Absolutely wonderful and extremely powerful...the idea of John being the one needing protecting...it really made me look at him a different way. And the depth you added to the character...it this was made part of the show, I think I would've respected John a lot more. And the way you weaved the two time periods together...simply delicious! Loved it!

Awesome story, and I think you did bring it across well. I liked the brother moments, and how you showed the similarities. Um, I'm tongue tied and can't seem to get the right words to express how well I think you've done with this fic, so I'll just leave it at I loved it and yeah it explains some things. Wow, the John backstory you put in here was fantastic! I really like the idea of his being Sam to Ben's Dean - emphasises how John is really more like Sam than Dean.

Not sure about big brother being killed when a truck crashes into their car though... Shudder... Hopefully that's where the two stories diverge...!

That was heartbreakingly beautiful. I love how you interweaved the two timeframes and showed us all the similarities between Ben and Dean. How big brothers unite in their love and protectiveness of little brothers.

I would never have pictured John as the "Sam" younger sibling but you did such an amazing job that by the end I totally accepted it. It was interesting to see John in that light, not the strong protecting hero, but the one being protected.

This was absolutely excellent it was just amazing. How long has this been floating around in your head. The whole story built around John and his brother and listening to the same things that his brother told him he hears Dean saying and doing the exact same things. I still think I would have killed his dad given the oppotunity and Id have been damned if hed have gone to the funeral unless it was in a jar to be spread in the compost pile. It was gut wrenching but at the same time priceless in the love that brothers have for each other.
