With his partner now fast asleep, Bogg began to relax the grip he had had on his emotions. His partner’s bout of seasickness had stirred up memories in Bogg of the time when he almost lost him after he was bitten by a rabid dog. Even though Bogg knew this was no-where near as serious as the previous situation, he couldn’t help but feel greatly concerned for his partner.

Bogg slowly got up, and brought a chair over from the other side of the room. After placing it next to his partner’s bunk, he sat down and pulled off his boots. Like a worried parent, Bogg sat there watching his young partner’s every breath. Hours later, when he could no longer overcome the weight of his heavy eyelids, he leaned back in the chair and dozed off.

OH!! How beautiful and slightly angsty and tons of love and comfort... LOVE IT! This story is just getting better and better Dennis! Sorry I'm so slow to read/review... I've got a lot on my literary plate right now. :)

I don't like this bad guy! Our boys need to get him! I like the exchange between Bogg and Jeff... that kid is a clever one! I really like Bogg's meloncholy too... very character appropriate.

The story is great! really moving. I can tell you really did your homework for this, it's fun to research. In my story I made a point of researching a bit for the French Revolution and a few things about ships and old English coastal towns, i'm still in the process though. I really bet that the intruder/sabateur is DRAKE! but I could be so wrong, i won't peek ahead. I'm trying to read 3 chapters a day, sometimes reading online really strains the eyes. I think you are really handling Bogg and Jeff's characters well, Bogg seems so much more responsible now and he's displaying alot of intelligence. And I appreciate that Jeff is still really a 'kid' not a mini-adult like kids on t.v today. That's why I loved him on the show. He wasn't a crybaby like many Voyagers critics say sometimes. He was scared and grieving over his parents and Bogg was his only real friend. You capture this real well.

I like how you kept it simple with their meeting with Columbus. One thing about Voyagers! That makes me laugh is how they can go all over the world at any time period and everyone speaks English! You can't get around that:-) I like the "Do you mind if we call you Chris?" line.

I enjoyed your view of Bogg's past and how people become voyagers, it's slightly similar to mine in a story i am working on, one day I would love to put it up here. Great writing!

When I read your review of my story Crossroads, I was speechless (which is hard to do.. just ask my husband!), and I cried (a tiny bit... you made my YEAR.). And I do apologize for not getting back to you sooner... I get busy and forgetful in my "old age" ... LOL.
