That was seriously one of the best stories I've read. You really get into Dean, Sam and John's heads. It was so beautifully written and the angst, humor and drama were superb! Thank you for the awesome read. This is going straight to fav's!

I've read this story multiple times and never reviewed. I felt bad and so when I searched the story, it was the only one that came up, so I was happy about that. :)

Anywho, I really liked this one. You write well and you don't necessarily go into long paragraphs explaining their feelings. You express them in actions. I liked that.

I also liked the fact that John and Sam at least agreed over Dean's health, even if I don't believe they argued all the time like most authors write.

Thank you for this piece. It was truly worth my time and is going in my favorites.

Fabulous - a really perceptive look at all three Winchester men. Loved the fore-shadowing - and the way Sam's relationship with John is already starting to change.

Okay, I’m not sure how I missed your stories in the past, but I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this one. It’s fantastic!

In particular, I like the interactions between Sam and John. I thought those were especially well written because you didn’t go overboard with the idea that father and son don’t get along. Many people write as if those two characters CONSTANTLY butt heads and I never really got that impression from the series. I like the fact that although Sam got angry with John and angry with the way he handled the situation, he still turned to his dad when he was worried and he still seemed to respect the man. By the same token, I also liked that you allowed John to be vulnerable in front of Dean. That was a very powerful exchange between all 3 of the characters, actually, even though Sam was only a witness.

Anyway, I’m thrilled to see so many stories listed on your profile page; I look forward to reading more soon.

Oops, got cut off there.

Yeah I kept being suprised by these wonderfully insightful moments, like when Dad comes home and Dean instantly starts dressing his wounds, completely businesslike, and Sam reflects that Dean might make a good nurse, but he knows Dean wouldn't want to be a nurse because he thinks nursing is for women and so he doesn't say anything about it. Another such moment is when Dean flirts with Sam's drama teacher and Sam is understandably embarrassed.

Also the element of possible alcohol abuse is interesting in this story; Dad is often absent from the kids' lives and doesn't always provide them with what they need, and of course it's because he's busy hunting ghosts, but in this story especially you can see how that could be read as a metaphor, not just in this story but in the whole Supernatural universe, for Dad being an alcoholic. The fact that Dean is the one who cooks for the three of them is an example of this, and of course Sam's paying attention to whether Dad's been drinking.

The tension between Dad and Sam is really amazingly well portrayed - it resonated for me with that scene in "Bugs" where Sam tells that kid it's OK because college is coming up, and actually made that scene make more sense for me. I love that the dispute between Dad and Sam is not too one-sided. Also I love the insight that Dean hates the tension between Dad and Sam and is stressed out about them not getting along. Quality angst right there.

Fantastic! This is some good, solid sick!Dean right here. It's smart, it's perceptive, it's interesting. The relationships are really intelligently portrayed, with lots of little tensions that are very believable, and the dialogue too is completely in keeping with the characters. As I read this story I kept being surprised by moments that were amazingly
