ttaM livE 2009-12-17 . chapter 38Overall it was well written - no mean feat in the realm of fanfiction!
I'm never certain about how well children are written. I'll be the first to admit my childhood was rarely normal, so perhaps I always expect them to be more mature. I guess the dichotomy presented between Brianna's excessive wand-use at the baseball game, which indicated a rather adult willingness to manipulate and thwart random other adults, contrasted with her childish unwillingness to "fess up" seemed a little off to me (there were some other instances).
I'm also never convinced that muggles have it all that well. I'm thinking of the claim that a bullet can go through any shield (making it the equivalent, at least in a marksperson's hands, of an AK) excessive. In particular, we always see wizards dodging multicoloured spells that are presumably moving quite rapidly - but that's just me. I guess the big one was the torch versus the lumos spell. Reading by torch is not particularly fun. Of what use is a Lumos if it can't even light up that much?
I don't want you to think I'm against your work. To the contrary, I think it is excessively well done, I liked the story a great deal, and I'm looking forward to the sequel. I only recently considered reading HHr "ships", and I agree wholeheartedly with your dislike of Ginny/Draco. You have potential, and I like the vast majority of what you do. I also appreciate McGonagal's interference with a Dursley adoption. She called it correctly from the beginning, and I've always wondered why she didn't do more. Perhaps a trifle overboard with Dumbledore, though it seems like you're making him make amends. It's another hard line to balance, making him fallable while not fully evil.
To end on a postive note, thank you for a very good job. I hope to read some more of your work. I also thank you for not forcing your religion on the story. After reading this, I read your bio, and had a momentary panic attack. I was once in the middle of a very well written half a million word story when suddenly harry quits magik, renounces "satan", and goes to some muggle church and god smitted Tom. So cheers for not doing that! |
Stephen 2009-12-16 . chapter 38 Excellent final chapter, similar to the 4th book ending with a bit of DH mixed in - I guess thats one less Horcrux Harry will need to destroy in future. I have really enjoyed your story and hope the sequel is still in the works. |
Sparkle506 2009-12-14 . chapter 38Love this story. Are you be any chance going to make the sequel any time soon. Sry that i may seem impatient but this fic is awesome. I need to read what happens next!
Please update soon. |

sjkirk34 2009-12-13 . chapter 1Holy crap. One of your characters (Stephen Kirk) has my exact name, (look at my user name...). A coincidence!!?? That is so damn weird. I guess a good choice of name, I am still OMG, :o.
Anyway, I m loving the story so far, although I'm not sure I am not convinced that Harry would have accepted he was Harry Potter so easily...
It was great to read how underage magic is handled in America, and also how you introduced Hermione and creating a better name for SPEW. Story now added to favorites!! |
Harriverse 2009-12-13 . chapter 38Congratulations on your incredibly intelligent Harry. An excellent and exciting story. |
Rifle-ben 2009-12-12 . chapter 1Excellent story o think you've done a great job and i cant wait for you to fin it I really hope you update soon i even put this in my list of favorite stories and wrote about it in my BIO |
TsuQ 2009-12-11 . chapter 38Hello, I've just finished reading your excellent Harry McGonagall Fic. It's probably the longest fanfic I've ever finished reading =]
Its interesting to see how a relatively small change in the plot at the beginning of the story does (or doesn't) change the plot. Now that Harry's full identity is generally known, we'll see how much his changed personality changes the outcomes of the future events, and how Voldemort will have to change his tactics for the reality where his return is acknowledged.
Looking forward to the sequel =] |
Fayari 2009-12-11 . chapter 38I love this story! Please update! Please!
It was on my mind how stupid some of Dumbledore's assumptions were when I was reading the books! I love the main concept of this story, and although I'm personally a HarryGinny fan, I appreciate the way you portrayed the cute romance between Harry and Hermione! It was so fluffy and cute. I also say the same about the cats.
Anyway, don't be discouraged just because Deathly Hollows is out and it confirms HarryGinny as the canon ship. Please continue your story! |
Yasha Dzuba 2009-12-10 . chapter 32Thanks a lot for this story. I really enjoy H/Hr stories most of all. I saw translation of Harry McGonagall at HogwartsNet and the link to original story, so I decided to read it here right away. I am at chapter 32 now, but just felt that I should write a review now. Anyway, I really like this story. Keep on doing good job. |
Luiz4200 2009-12-10 . chapter 38I see Rita Skeeter is back into business. Or is it Percy Weasley? Since nobody doubts that Voldemort is back this time, will Harry try to tell about Peter Pettigrew? It disappointed me that not only Sirius wasn't cleared but also that Remus is now a fugitive as well. Please post the sequel. Will Snape resume spying like in the books? |
 Luiz4200 2009-12-09 . chapter 36Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe? So funny. |
bellachaos 2009-12-09 . chapter 38Great story! I've been keeping my eye on this fic for several months, waiting until it was complete so I could read it in one straight shot. Your story was well worth the wait. I like that even with the changes in plot no one seemed out of character. I especially liked the way you handled Snape and Dumbledore in the early part of the fic. The strong bonds between the characters are very believable and a pleasure to read. A job very well done. I look forward to reading the sequel. |
 bananacupcakes 2009-12-08 . chapter 38Please continue :) |
Luiz4200 2009-12-08 . chapter 12I'm glad the baseball thing was cleared but it's a surprise nobody considered using the pensieve since it's been used so often to collect evidence against Snape. |
