But I think you've improved on the original, if only by the stark contrast between Victorian language and Joss Whedon language. this was the perfect antidote to the Jane Eyre plagiarism wank in LOTR RPS. Some people were very hurt but everyone who read this said it made them feel better! You rock like a very rocking thing!

This is pure win and genius. And I haven't even watched Firefly! I especially liked the deadpan narrator, but your take on the events in the book made me laugh several times. I liked the book a lot, but it is a bit melodramatic. XD

Oh, and I was linked from fandom_wank (it had nothing to with you; it was about the novel Jane Eyre, and your fic was linked in a thread just to show how to do it right, methinks) and I decided to have a look. And now I want to look up Firefly, heh.

This is extremely funny and creative and completely full of win. I have to admit that Jane Eyre is not one of my favorite novels (I can't stand it really), but Jayne Eyre has to be one of the most entertaining fanfics I've ever read. Awesome stuff.

Awesome pastiche! Jayne is perfect, the Bronte characters adapt well (after a few theatrical sighs of, "do we HAVE to be in this silly story?") and the narrator is perhaps my favorite character of all. Brava!
