Were the cups the same size? Because if they were then didnt Sanosuke technically win? Or was winning who could stay afloat the longest and not how much alcohol was had?

This is a disapointment,the first thing that is wrong is the drinking contest, every body drinks at the same time and no one starts on their second cup intill everyone is done their first!
The rules of this game is who can drink MORE sake, wine, rum, beer, whatever the drink without passing out first wins! NONE of this nurseing his first couple of drinks as the other just draining their classes BULLSHIT!
Secondly Sano and Kenshin can drink alot and still be able Run in a straight line and fight. check out Vol 6,vol 18, and vol 26!

Though I don't approve of drinking, I did think this story was hilarious in the way Hiko let the younger drinkers make 'fools' of themselves as Kaoru so aptly put it. That was just so deviously, wonderfully Hiko-esque!

Oh dear God, now that was absolutely hilarious. There are so many things I love about this story, your usage of 'Hiko Seijuro XI', Hiko's devious not to mention sensible ploy against two hot-headed idiots, the way Kenji's not surprised to find Sano asleep in the end and so many more...very original in terms of plot, good writing with only very few mistakes in word usage (Without further 'adieu' instead of 'ado')...but all in all, brilliant, I look forward to your other fics.

Hmm... Not your best work. I didn't find it all that humorous. Rather predictable as well. Yahiko jumped at the chance to show off his manliness and failed miserably. Sano rushed ahead without thinking things through and overpaced himself. Obviously, cool, calculating Hiko came out on top by letting his opponents defeat themselves. The ending wasn't all that solid either. I think this would best serve as a brief aside to a longer plot than as a stand-alone story.
