I fell in love with your story from the very beginning. It was the summary that caught my eye and the prologue that drew me in. The way you painted the picture of the scene with your words is indescribable. You had me there as Buffy every time, seeing what she saw and feeling what she felt. Accomplishing such is an unbelievably hard task, as a fiction writter my self I know. I constantly struggle to do so but in the end I always see ways in which I could make it better and yet am still not satisfied. I am ashamed to admit I snuck a peek at the end to see how it would turn out. To see if William really did love Buffy or if he still loved Drusilla. I was shocked to find out how it all concluded.
Before reading your fiction I had never heard of the novel 'Rebecca' or the name Daphne Du Maurier. After reading your story I was curious to find out if the book was just as good. It has been two days and I am a little more then half way through, I simply can not put it down. It is now my favorite novel and I think you for that deeply.
You truely did take the story and make it your own and for that I admire you, as well as having the guts to touch it, lol. But you pulled it off better then, I think, anyone could have done. You kept true to the story and still made it your own. The novel really does just scream Spuffy. I have to admitt that I am insanely jellious that you got to it first and made it such a sucsess, not that I would have actually touched it. :)
In layman's terms I absoluty adored your story.

this story was well written and amazing! i will definitely be looking thoroughly through everything you've written and read more. it was very different, obviously, but i loved the way you included the characters, and how they were all true to form.

only, why so little of Giles, who plays such a huge role in Buffy's life? and where were Willow, Dawn, and Tara? And Joyce, for that matter?

wow! i found myself rather quickly embroiled in this story. i generally don't read stuff that's not in the buffyverse, but, since it was you who wrote this piece, i felt i had to atleast read it. AND YOU DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! loved all the characters we've known and loved - from fred and wesley to anya and xander. truly a remarkable story!

Oh my God. This story was AMAZING. This is one of the best fanfictions I have ever read, one on my favorites. There was so much discription, you could feel the emotions that there characters were feeling. I was crying my eyes our through out most of it. And when William/Spike told Buffy thet he never loved Drsilla and that he killed her...wow, I liked that version a whole lot better then him actually loving her and mourning her death and ignoreing buffy and treating her the way he did because he still loved Drsilla.
All I've been doing the last 3 day on my free time is reading this. I confess I found it a few months ago but I wanted to wait and see if it had a happy ending before I got too into it. :D

Wow. Just, wow. I love this story, have done since the first moment I began reading it, and I think you've done a truly fantastic job with shaping the bones of the story to fit the characters you've used. All too often stories like this are just the original retyped with the names of new characters, but you've made this so much more. I particularly enjoyed the way you made Buffy's inner fire shine out, reflecting the fact that she is not as meek as the new Mrs de Winter in the original. For all that you've borrowed a plot line this is a very different story and one which I have truly enjoyed.

I thoroughly applaud your absolutely marvelous job finishing this complex story. I am not a fan of Rebecca and probably never will be because du Maurier never did what you did; you gave the characters more humanity and made them more accessible. I felt sorry for the heroine and her bittersweet ending, but I never feel as if they have triumphed all that much. They move on but not because their love gave them that boost necessary to reclaim their happiness. I love all your stories in the Buffy fandom, especially the AU/AR's. I am glad you persevered and thanks, Yani, for all your encouragement. I'm looking forward to your next masterpiece!
