Ahh the Impala.
I liked the story (I admit i've been following your AGU fanfics and haven't reviewed, something i'm gonna rectify soon once i get a week off.) it showed a bit more to Vince i hadn't seen before.

And i'm betting almost every review has people listing thier favourite car of all time and i'm, unfortunatly, no different. But i have only two: The '64 mustang and the Caterham.

That was great. I loved it, it was nice little project for some of the others to get into also.

So Vince got himself a car...I had to gogle "four-door 1967 Chevy Impala" cause I had no idea what it looked like (actually, I had a pretty good idea but I wanted to make sure) and I seems like a pretty nice car.

As I read this the Eric and Romy inside kept wanting to write in silver sharpie all over it. The writing would have been

After reading the summary, for a minute I thought Kitty had bought a new car, and I wondered why nobody in the mansion had stopped that bait for a disaster. ^_^

I can see Vincent wanting a new car, and wishing buying it with his money instead of accepting someone else's cash. I can see him bonding with the other boys, and even Paige, about it. And I can see him wanting giving Rogue free rides. Specially nightly rides. ^_^

I'll bet Rogue doesn't regret now the time he spent neglecting his girlfriend to build his car. :D

That was cool. And real sweet too at the end. It would also be embarassing for them to ruin the shock absorbers on the car's first drive. Xavier just might rethink some things then. but that was pretty cool. Funny too, on how they got the car to the mansion!

nice piece. and a great way to test the car out. It'd be kind of cool if Xavier set up a car class or somethin' for the kids.

lol Nice fic my friend. A man and his car is a beautiful thing. Once they have one, they treat it like it's alive. I can see Vince getting attatched to his new baby. I'll bet given his strength and speed, he'll keep that thing in tip top shape! Nice to see him share it with Rogue too. Yeah, I guessed Rogue would go for the SUV, since it's color is one of her favorites.

What's the deal with SUV's? It makes sense to have one if you have a big family or an outdoors-person like Logan. But someone buying one for himself or herself and using it within a city or to go to and from a city doesn't makes sense to me.

When I think of classic cars, I think of the 1940's and so. Though having read Gunsmith Cats, I have to wonder if Vince would like a good old Shelby Cobra GT500 like the one Rally drives.

Ouch. Not a good thing to do - surprise Vince while he's under the car. Normally someone would get seriously hurt doing that. If they're lucky. In Vince's case, a dent would be the least of the car's troubles.

Let's see - Jamie, I can see helping. One of the Guthries, yes, since they had to deal with farm equipment. Though I was expecting Sam rather than Paige. Scott - definitely. Especially since Vince's car's a classic. I would have thought some of the other boys would help out, though Kai and Warren would be the exceptions. Sarah - not a surprise there. Maybe Logan helped out as well.

Question - I recall Forge tinkering with the new vehicles they purchased at the beginning of BTS, making them more fuel efficient. Did he do the same for the personal vehicles, like Scott's and Ororo's cars, Xavier's limo, Jean's SUV, and Logan's bike? Would Vince let Forge do the same to his car - make it more fuel efficient and save him money in the long run?

Vince bought that car because of its latent eye appeal. Not for its potential sound appeal, which it would have had had Ray's suggestion for a hi-fi sound system followed through.

Nitro - asking for too much trouble.

Those neon lights were a horrible idea. Whenever I see them at night, they hurt my eyes.

All things considered, I'd say Vince would be as uptight about his ride as Scott is about his.

Ooh, so Rogue's hoping to catch up on some "alone-time" that she and Vince lost.

LOL. Okay, I guess that's one way to "break-in" the car. Though I'm certain he'll exercise restraint this time.

Okay, in the next major part of the AGU, you got to include how Pam, Joseph, and their other friends react to Vince's new wheels. Maybe even have him send a picture of his new car back to the orphanage in Toronto.

Nice one-shot! :) It's good to see our favorite mutants do everyday stuff too ... although fixing up a whole car is hardly something that happens day to day it's a nice break from fighting evil family members or saving the world. I mean almost half the mansion seemed to help Vince out when it came to fixing the car ... the male half anyway...

great idea on doing up a car i like cars my self if i could of choosen a car for him it would of been a Ford GT. keep up the good work
