A really good piece you've written here.

I like the insight into John's character and how he feels about the Stargate and his new life in Atlantis. To me, this looks like it could be part of a longer story, perhaps even the conclusion of one. This piece seems to summarize a lot of things, and it makes me wonder how John got to thinking about those things in the first place.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this. Thank you for sharing!
