Wow, is this really your first (published) fanfiction? Cool. I'm a big fan of Night, and Twilight, Walking Out, Walking I and I've read a couple others, I just can't remember them.

Kudos for portraying her believably (slightly scatterbrained, but perceptive and caring) as opposed to the dumb giggly caricature so many fics feature.

Great job with Vash as well. I really started to sniffle when he and Millie were discussing Knives.

After much thought and quite a few re-reads, I think it's safe for me to say that this is one of my favorite Trigun fics. Why? It's not some sweeping epic or stupidly romantic V/M fic...but it is very real. The characters as you present them here are completely in-character, so much so that I can easily see this happening in the series, without making it AU at all. And you're not just parroting back character stuff we already know-you're offering honest-to-goodness introspection.

Milly really does need more fics. She may not know it, but she's got her own brand of wisdom. "You love them anyway." Very true. And that *is* the problem. And it just *works* and is great to read and dammit, I really like this story.

Great characterization! I didn't think it was at all OOC. Milly is such an underdeveloped character, and you've done a fantastic job of bringing out her personality. It's always good to take a break from the angst/yaoi/pairings and look at a sweetly and sensitively done character study. I especially liked how Milly's "big sister" persona surfaced. I also thought it was terribly poignant that when Milly wasn't looking at Vash, his voice sounded sad, but when she looked up, she could only see his smiles. Excellent, excellent work. Please, keep writing! _ -Rae-chan
