abuseWow. Excellent story. :) You caught the deeper meaning, and portrayed it extremely well. I thought for the whole first half that it was Carth Atton was talking to. I didn't even consider Canderous until Kreia mentioned a mandelorian. Great job! :D

abuselol so it was Canderous! i was conviced up until the very end that is was Carth LOL (the comment about his wife and the whole thing about him making a life down here instead of up there) but i suppose that it really does work both ways if u think about it. Canderous used to fly those Mandorain battle ships and he was in the assult on Telos too. you are one very clever son (or daughter) of a **! i never really figure Atton as having much in common with Canderous but u really work that out well!
i a bit confused as i assume that all ur stories are set in the same reality but the summary of ur biggest story betrayed say Carth was the one in love with Revan? but this story surgest Canderous and revan were while interment (the comment about waking up and finding his bed empty?)? were they both in love with here.
i think i will start reading Betrayed and find out ( i alway read the Oneshot first to find out if a writer any good you see)
ANYWAY NICE JOB!

abuseNice setting of the scene. I liked the way you eased the characters into the conversation. The attention to the small details of the story are also great.

I did think that Canderous might have been a bit less warrior-like than I've seen, but your writing of his persona was strong.

I liked how the other characters entered the scene and filled it out. Also, the sense of baggage came through very well and made the story intriguing.

Great work.

abuseInteresting encounter.

I like your Exile, at least what little we see of her. Deliciously ambiguous re/ Dark/Light, and not falling into stereotypes. Atton is fleshed out nicely too. Kreia is nicely dark.

I found Canderous a bit soft, but who knows what he would become after the events of the past... Still, there were too few traces of what he used to be to work for me bc he has to fit within the context of the established past (and the future where he supposedly joins the Exile's crew)

In general, the scene is set nicely together. You have a nice cantina atmosphere that works well. Also, the general premise is quite good as well.

abuseExcellent work! There's a ton of fantastic lines in here, one of my faves being Atton's "Er, er call it the Ebon Hawk" to cover up his blunder. Too cute. And this is pure Kreia:

"His life is made of waiting now… of wondering… of questions. Just as yours is."

Just fantastic. My only minor nitpick was that Atton and the stranger (who I thought was someone else COMPLETELY, btw--nice suprise) became pretty chummy pretty quick but that's a VERY minor point in what was otherwise a very well-written piece. The observations Atton made were clever and astute, and you had some very nice turns of phrase.

I look forward to reading more from you! :)

abuseThere's something to be said about cantinas and all the interesting things that occur in them. I really enjoyed this fic, especially how you manage to create some kind of familiar territory between Atton and Canderous. What's more, I love the descriptions you place between the conversation and the little parts of the backstory regarding Atton and his own connection to Revan. I guess that's really one of the things I've enjoyed about this: you were able to keep it flowing at the same tempo and gave a vivid description of the characters and their feelings towards the ones they loved. It's one of the few times I've really seen someone delve into the character of Canderous and you didn't shy away from all his dealings for one instant.

abuseI actually thought it was Carth that Atton was talking to, so it was a surprise to see Canderous like that. Though I'm not quite sure if he'd beg like that to keep his identity secret.

Oh, Kreia, how I utterly loathe you...

Good Job!

abuseI thought the stranger was Carth at first. Very interesting. I always love implied canderous/revan tension.

abuseYay for Atton baggage fics!! I could have sworn that the mysterious guy was Carth at first, but I think it actually made more sense as it was Canderous's hidden inner self. Kreia's part, though small was very well written and quite engaging. Sheesh twelve credits...nice job!

abuseI really liked your setup when Atton walked in. In a very short time, you let the reader know what Atton was doing and what kind of place he was in. Despite the fact that we're talking about a miserable man, the fact you employed such a wonderful twist made me smile. Not to mention it made me read through it again.
