I think that the meassage that Wyatt is trying to tell Chris is that the Halliwels ultimate devotion to family is what got them all killed. Update again soon, and tell me if I'm right!

Just a question though...is he younger or older than Wyatt? Or is he the same age? Because I get that he's older than Chris, but I'm not sure how he is in relation to Wyatt? Oh, and why don't he and Chris like each other? Or is it one of those things that just happened on its own accord? Yeah, sorry for all the questions. Moving on. I love the whole 'Chess' senario. You really like your chess. =P It's a great thing to use because Chess DOES represent war and warfare, etc with the whole 'defeating' of the enemy, etc. ...although I can't quite figure out what 'Wyatt' is trying to tell Chris. That he has to be ready to sacrifice? That he has to be able to defeat/kill Wyatt? Eh. Chris doesn't get it either so I do feel a bit better. The question are just there, I honestly don't expect you to answer then. =P Oh! I just realised something! Does Wyatt refer to himself as 'The Source'? Because 'The Source' stands for 'The Source-of-all-Evil' and that would kind of contradict all he stands for. Or is it a title that everybody else uses in relation to him? ...moving on...(...blame Shan/Charmedgrlforever...she's gotten me into a brainstorming mode)... I love your original characters. They're awesome! ...and that's saying something, because I've only ever liked 'original characters' in one other fic! Damien is awesome. I'm glad (again) that you used him! =D Fantastic chapter, as always I eagerly await your update!

On the little table was a chessboard." [a] The whole setting up of the scene before this quote was excellently done. Very nice imagery. I'm glad you didn't skip over imagery as many are apt to do. Kudos to you for that. [b] This quote in particular... I don't know why, but it really felt like I was watching it on television. I can easily picture Wyatt leaning casually back in a chair with one arm slung over its back, staring at his brother with a calm, poised smirk/grin. Chessboard? This feels so... X-Men-ish. You know that scene in one of the movies (the second, I believe) that actually starts off the movie: the professor and Magneto both sitting playing chess together. That scene really, really touched me. Hm, I'm going to go see if I can go watch it on youtube. I really loved that scene. I always loved Magneto as a character - after learning about his past and realizing what made him who he was. And that he and the professor, while on opposite sides, aren't actually enemies to one another. It was definitely a new spin on how enemies are often portrayed. I love it. That whole thing in and of itself is very Chris/Wyatt when Chris is a good guy. shrug - - - “No shit, Sherlock. Is that why we’re suddenly in an unfamiliar room on the continent of North America?” [a] I always loved the phrase “no shit, Sherlock.” So kudos to you for using it. [b] Heh heh, gotta love Damien for his sarcasm. grin “Remove the sensation from your thoughts and follow me,” It’s funny how matter-of-factly he says that—as if all he has to do is say it to make it so. Just because he knows how to do things that easily doesn’t make it that simple for the rest of them. “his tolerance of their curiosity waning quickly.” smirk What tolerance? wink “I wondered if he was making friends or enemies. It’s always a bit of a tossup.” Really? I thought it was a given that he’d be making enemies, LoL. “It could be anyone from Voldemort to the Elders to some lowly scavenger demon.” My guess is it’s not some lowly scavenger demon or else Chris would have simply vanquished it by now. (Unless he was torturing it. wink) “If it were a lowly demon, Chris would have escaped by now,” And it looks as if Damien agrees with me. - - - Wait a second, that’s right! I thought Wyatt didn’t take Chris! But then what is Wyatt doing there playing chess with Chris? Unless this is all in Chris’s mind… but it still wouldn’t explain… I am so confuzzled right now… “Chris glanced down at the chessboard and felt his chest constrict. All his breath escaped him in a whoosh of realization.” Uh oh… Right now I’m picturing that instead of all the pawns, rooks, knights, etc. – on the board there are faces… faces of people on Chris’s team and faces on Wyatt’s team. shudder Wow. breathless That scene… those few quotes together: “You’re not Wyatt.” “I’m Wyatt’s subconscious. Just like you’re Chris’ subconscious.” … “That’s not a chessboard.” “Of course not. That’s the real war.” I think that is my favorite part ever of this story. Just the simplicity of it… and yet… and yet… I don’t know… just… breathless Wow. Stunning. Wowowowowowowowow. - - - “I’ve tried scrying,” said Andrea, indicating the discarded strings and tokens on the table. “But I don’t know anything of Chris’ that would give us a good enough connection. He doesn’t put a lot of himself in material things.” What about if Damien tried? He wouldn’t need anything of Chris’s: he’s Chris’s brother, and that’s often a strong connection in and of itself. “I’ll tell you about the Malfoy project if you tell me how old you are.” cracks up Dude, how can he be -that- interested in finding out Chris’s age. You’d think he’d have gotten over that by now. rolls eyes “He’s an entire fucking decade younger than me?” O-kay… guess he’s NOT over it yet, huh. “Wyatt himself is only eighteen,” he pointed out. Good point there. Did they know that, though? Because if they did, then DUDE wouldn’t they realize that Chris is the YOUNGER brother? “I’ve tried scrying for him, too, but my blood connection by itself wasn’t enough, either.” Ah, okay, so that answers my question from earlier, then. “A book?” suggested Hermione. smirk Of course she’d be the one to suggest that, wouldn’t she? “…Coffee?” tried Andrea. “No.” Why not?! That’s probably the strongest connection he has to anything! Except… well, maybe something that used to be owned by Paris? “Who is it?” asked Hermione, frowning. “Paris,” said Joden, his usual buoyant personality vanished. “That’s Paris Whitmore.” OMG, wow, I was right! Well, not completely right – it wasn’t something that she owned but a picture of her herself – but still! I was really close! Yay! Kudos to myself! excited grin - - - “Chris said nothing. The pawns were just plain pawns on the surface, but, whenever the lights overhead flickered, he could see their faces. The pawns, both black and white, were the Halliwells. Sometimes he could see exactly who it was on each individual piece. Sometimes he just knew the look in their eyes. His pawns- Phoebe, Paige, Jessica, Cole, Henry, and who he suspected were Prue, Piper, and Leo. Those last three seemed to elude the light at all costs, but he could see their eyes. There were afraid but determined. They knew the game.” Again, looks like I was right about the chessboard. Wow, I’m on a roll today. wink Creepy imagery here… "“It started with me,” said a new voice, and a woman no older than thirty stood from a table in the audience. She walked onto the stage and knelt by Chris, her blue eyes beseeching Chris in a way he couldn’t grasp. She gave the saddest smile Chris could have imagined for the occasion." Eh, I would have preferred more description about her before you introduced who she was. All we now know from this is that she was no older than thirty and that she had blue eyes. I would have liked if you described her in more detail here. “He had never had to ask. Prue would never, in any reality, make him.” I really love how you make these pawns actually… well, in a way, REAL. Okay, so I’m thinking that maybe the one who kidnapped Chris is the Angel of Destiny? Maybe even the Angel of Death, but I’m leaning towards the former. “What am I telling you?” That sacrifices must be made in a war? - - - “Damien opened his mouth with a sardonic look, clearly about to tell her, “In the crossfire,”” snort I was just about to say that. WickedNut 2008-07-22 ch 30,	abuseAnother awesome chapter, as usual. I love Joden's character!! He's like the comic relief, but he knows when to be serious (usually). I loved the plot twist about he Malfoys. No wonder they seem to hate Chris so much. They're probably so pissed off that he got one over on them. The chess idea is good, but I think it'll take a while for Chris to get the message. I have an idea, but I'm not positive I know what it means. Well, I guess I'll find out if I'm right, won't I? cheery grin Catch you next chapter. Good work as per normal. Jenna

Is Damien a vampire I mean "showing his canines?" hmm...interesting so who is stupid enough to kidnap a Halliwell yiou do know that if it is Voldie then he'll be a dead Voldie when Wy is through with him? okay, great chapter and can't wait for your update! Also what is Wyatt trying to say, that Chris is going about the war the wrong way that he should maybe go to the past? Anyway, great chapter!
