I was going to just wait until I finished reading the story completely and review once, but I had to comment on this chapter to tell you how much I absolutely love Ponyboy's article for the paper, "Faded Photographs". It just brings back so many memories and sounds exactly like the summers I remember from being a kid. (I've always been able to relate to Ponyboy.) Anyway, you put the feeling that is summer into words much, much better than I ever could.

I love the last two lines.

I really love this story! Especially Dally's part. It's hilarious and exactly how I would picture Dally to be in prison. Sometimes I forget that this is just fanfiction. I like this ending as much as the real one.

It's kind of creepy, but I was actually thinking "Whatever happened to that one fanfiction where Johnny ended up in a wheelchair..?" today, and voila, I found it as an unread update email. I'm so glad you concluded the story with a great epilogue instead of just leaving it out to dry like most authors do. This was one of the best fanfictions I've ever read. Hmm, so keep on writing, and stay gold! :D

Well, hello again:)) It's been over two years I think:) Anyway, I saw that you updated and I was glad you did. I like the way you are ending this story. Really loved Johnny in this one. How he turned out and all. Loved Cathy too. Both her physical description and her personality. Johnny deserves the best, you know:)

The second she smiled and said they're nice I knew exactly who she was sending Johnny to. =)

That chapter made me smile and frown at the same time.

I am just reading this for the first time and it's great. I'm still reading but I just wanted to say while it's fresh in my mind, that 'faded photographs' gave me chills. It's a really great piece of writing, it seems it should be someplace else instead of fanfiction. It's a shame the characters don't belong to you! (well actually, if I'm wishing for stuff, I guess they'd belong to me but still!)
The only thing I would say is that when you summarise at the end the ironys of the photographs (mickey mouse got sold, Johnny cant play) I'd put them in the order you first mentioned them. It seems better thought out that way, though I guess you could have done it for impact rather than structure. Anyway, really great piece. I'd be so proud if I wrote it.

I just found this story and I read the whole thing. It's now one of my favorites it's hard to find good one's on here. Great job :]

You surprised me with the Johnny Cade bit, I was, of course, expecting it to be Ponyboy.

Ah, I wish I'd seen how those kids reacted to that book, but I guess I could figure it out. I'd forgotten you still had to wrap up Dally. You did it perfectly, too. I loved this chapter and the final image you left us with. That letter... what a great touch. This was a terrific story. Like I said -- I'm glad you gave it some closure.

I can't tell you how glad I am that you've decided to give this story some closure. I absolutely adored this chapter, and as an English teacher, you've really captured the moment when kids get a new book for the first time. If I told you how many times I've heard "this looks boring..." But I can't wait to read the second part of this epilogue. Can't wait to hear these kids eat their words. (They do tend to love The Outsiders every year, after all. ;-))

I like the explanation of Dallas' motivation as a young person. Deciding to rebel even harder just to spite everyone's expectations of him. Makes sense ... and it's kind of sad lol.

AHAHA @ Dallas getting stranded in Pennsylvania. That is hilarious.

"It was on his third trip to the ER that he was certain he had finally pissed her off enough for her to notice him."

Love this line. Totally explains the drive-in incident with Cherry. And LOL @ hopping around a hospital room, screaming, with his ass hanging out. Classic.

Hah - Dally getting stuck with a little Dallas and a little Ponyboy is great. Probably the two he'd have the hardest time parenting.

Aw perfect riding off into the sunset ending. People say they don't like happy endings in stories, but come on! Who can really resist such a sweet wrap-up of the otherwise doomed Dallas and Johnny? It's nice to get a happy ending for once. And it's still open enough not to be annoyed by too much closure. This story's been a really great ride and now I'm going to have to read the whole thing over again. :)

And btw - I will get back to the FB fandom and review your stroies soon! Been a little busy lately, but I will make time lol.
