Oh god, I've never reviewed or favorited a yaoi fanfic since I'm against it. But oh god, that last chapter made me want to cry, I've never read a yaoi fanfic so poignant. Most of the yaoi fanfics I read were just lemons; but yours had real emotion, real feelings that the reader could also feel. Even if I am against homosexuality and slash fics, I still have to appreciate the utter raw emotions you put into this fanfiction.

x) This was the perfect ending!~ I was a little apprehensive when I read the note saying it was the last chapter, since it's so short and they have such a complex relationship... or at least, Yomi makes it complex. But rerally, it's perfect. The way it fits into the rest of the story arc, and the last little sad, intimate kindness that Kurama offered... I would go as far as to say that it's the most satisfying ending I ever read for fanfic. Not a giant dramatic showdown, or some angsty everyone dies bs, just- sad and realistic.

It has been a great pleasure reading this fic, and believe me, I'll be coming back to for years xD <3

I really don't have anything coherent to say after reading the last two chapters. You have that balance between them, that love-hate-love-hate that flows so easily, and that's hard to do.

And Yomi's initial hatred of Yusuke is actually well-founded. You know, having re-read all of Leashed and most of Dirge, they do go hand in hand. Funny how that worked out.

Again, adored this. It's some great introspection on Yomi and Kurama's relationship.

I actually guess you're right not to go into the Tournament--that would probably be too redundant. But this final chapter does nicely fill in the gap between Kurama breaking from Yomi to side with Yusuke, and then the reconciliation between the two later. From what I recall, there wasn't a whole lot during said gap moving toward that end, which makes this story's ending excellent in a larger context in addition to it just being a damn fine ending anyhow. I'll be checking out "Dirge" soon, I promise.

this is nice! i can't find enough fics featuring yomi and kurama and their relationship with each other. though i had hoped you would show the scenes when yomi was carrying kurama from his fight with shigure, and end it with the scene where yomi was leaving with shura for training. i felt it was only then when their relationship with each other finally gets defined / have a conclusion.

OKAY THAT WAS LIKE. HFA;DSJFAKA. I'm sad to see it end, but that was really great. I thought it was a perfect place to end, and Kurama kissing him was sweet. And the whole "I should have killed you myself" was just so Kurama. Thank you so much for writing this and taking it off of hiatus. It was fantastic all the way through.

Even medium-sized, it's nice to read a new chapter to this piece. We're getting into the tournament! I can only imagine what you shall now have transpire after Kurama sides with Yusuke. And I think I agree with you; I don't think Yomi liked Yusuke (or maybe most anyone else from the usual cast), at first--I do think he likes him by the end, but anyway. I shall have to cease putting off checking out "Dirge," haha.

On a lesser note, I located one error, in the second section, in the second sentence, in the parentheses: "no longer how long he knew his friend, he would never quite get used to that aspect of his personality". I think "longer" was meant to be "matter." Just thought I'd bring that to attention.

Congrats on being off the "hiatus" status. I look forward to more of this!

Are you kidding me? "Yo, Yomi, you son of a **! I'm here so put on a pot of tea" is one of the BEST lines in that anime! Who could forget who said it! (right up there with "Now it's just you and me...well, you and you and you and you and you and you and you and me.") Ah, I love Yusuke. And I love how you described Kurama's relation to Yusuke - how his leader has his trust entirely and can pull him out of the politics of demon world...I really enjoyed that part. Great chapter - Hope you can continue soon!

The ending of the previous chapter fed so nicely into the canon's depiction of Yusuke's entrance into Gandara, that I simply assumed the story was intended to end at that point. I am delighted that you've decided to continue the story. The relationship between Yomi and Kurama is fraught with fascinating ambiguity, that your story captures perfectly. Yomi's perception of the rather crude and upstart Yusuke is wonderful. The contrast between his reaction and Kurama's and his team is delightful. I greatly look forward to Yomi's reaction to Kurama's forthcoming betrayal. It's intriguing how Yusuke, even as he himself matures, is a revolutionary force for those around him -- particularly as for the Demon World that force seems to bring back a more renewing youthful zeal as compared to the more sophisticated and treacherous world that Gandara in particular exemplifies.

Aah! I had to do a double take when I saw this at the top of my list xP This is by far the BEST characterization of Kurama and Yomi I have ever read, and over so many chapters... And here I thought I would never see another update. You, have made my week, perhaps even my entire month. Even though its kindof just a fillerish chapter ;)

I love you, and I must confess that there was a good long while (about a damn year) when I checked for updates every single day. So... I'm a bit in shock at the moment <3
