Shirl 2006-12-05 ch 1,	abuseThis was excellent! You've created a very complex story. Interesting choice to write from the parents' POV. I can see why you did it, and it really works well. I especially liked the scene of the parents watching Skylar and Dale's discussion outside from a distance, only seeing their gestures. There were other wonderful details like the oysters, and Dale knowing how to cook the eggs. I think you really have a handle on Dale's character and his movivations. It was great to read a fic that focused on these two "B-plot characters". I hope you write more Jericho fics.

I thought of your fic immediately after watching the episode :) Keep writing!

I liked your interpretation of Skylar; while she was portrayed as a shallow ** at the beginning of the show, we are starting to see a nicer side of her, particularly towards Dale. Seeing as though your story is set a couple of months into the attack, you have developed Skylar's characters so she's matured a lot, becoming a nicer and more responsible person, something which I found realistic. Loved the situation, with Skylar's parents coming home and the fact Skylar never gave up hope, very heartwarming. Dale's such as sweetie, as always. Hehe, I just realised I'm one of the 11 Jericho fans. Hilarious. Great story. It may have not been a Jake/Heather fic, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. Cheers, CSIMel XD

I find it a little bit strange that the reunion of Skylar and her parents wasn't a bit more emotional, but I suppose it's possible that they aren't that kind of family. Anyway I loved the Skylar/Dale interaction, especially when her parents were watching and we could only guess what it was they were saying. Great job!
