I must admit, I'm jealous of your writing. I love your style and your ability to explain everything so well. The strength of this fic comes from that talent, and at the same time the beautiful sentences are merely a bonus when reading this excellent story.

Compared to Fake and It’s So Cowardly (both of which, can get pretty effing heart-breaking), this is the most cheerful of all. That is, it ends happily enough. I’m trying to figure out their ages though. I’m guessing mid-twenties for Sachiko? If so, damn. She was a virgin for that long? I read this before It’s So Cowardly, so I was initially thinking ‘way to go, Yumi!’ Now that I know who the mystery woman is, it’s a little sad. For Sei.

Really. I loved this one. Romantic and light. Also, it was funny. That’s quite a trip away from the extremely dark humour I tend to find in your fics.

There were some elements of your other fics in this. Like the slight presence of that dry cynicism with which Sachiko views the world. It was mostly absent; I take it because Sachiko’s out of that stifling environment she was reared in and is satisfied with who she has become at this point. It’s interesting to read Sachiko from Fake without the meds and Sachiko from 2x4 without the, er, 2x4.

Plus, a million points for having a nude Yumi solicit Sachiko. Unbelievably modernist sexy. Talk about an extreme kick in the right direction…

My favorite phrase has got to be, "a rat pass wind." That one had me laughing for a while. This is IMHO another excellent story, though I think it is cruel to make them wait that long. Still, I enjoyed it very much.

Wonderful use of description. I almost feel like I could see the view, snow and frozen river. Sachiko's margin notes is a unique and imaginative way to tell us about her character. An excellent take on a person's first time.
