Did I just read that correctly? "Himura Kenji"? My brain just spazzed. Kuroba Kaito and Kudou Shinichi got their attracted-to-misfortune genes from Kenshin?!? That is just too funny and coincidental for words to accurately express.

Or is it that I'm looking too hard for good crossovers..? D:

Uh ...what to say? It is beautifully written and so, so bittersweet. I'm not sure I can handle it if the pairings end up permanently this way =(. But the premise is extremely unique and intriquing, and I am looking forward to seeing how you will handle the strange awkwardness of it all.

I have to admit I have never read a story quite like this one before. My only question is: is there more? I know it's technically two one-shots, but the ending left me wishing for something more. Specifically, I want to see what would happen when Kaito (the real one) starts really remembering. A confrontation between Kaito (still the real one) and Shinichi (this could get confusing). And does Shinichi (I think I'll use their real names - that was a bit hard to follow in the story though you did a good job with it under the circumstances) know that Hakuba knows? The whole idea of the 4 working together while only 3 know of the switch sounds pretty interesting. Anyway, you got me thinking, and I couldn't ask for much more. Thanks for the story!

I'm a little lost with this end part "It was a great-great-grandfather. Himura Kenji" What is Kaito talking about? Anyway love the follow up and look forward to more if you ever decide to continue this.

This was a weirdly interesting story. I smiled at the fun moments and had my heart hurting at the sad ones. It's definitely a thinker and I applaud you on making this story. Keep up the great writing and looking forward to more on your interesting stories.

"Crack" or not, this is absolutely THE best fic I've read in the DC/MK catagory. Probably one of the most interesting fics I've read PERIOD.

This second part is interesting, but I would have almost preferred the story left as a oneshot. Don't get me wrong, this is wonderful, but it kinda takes a bit of the punch out of the first chapter in the story. Sometimes you just need to leave your audiences with a bombshell and ignore explaining the aftermath.

That said, since this exists, and the boys will soon be interacting with each other, I'd be curious to see if any memories start to rear their little heads. If the two worlds start to intermingle, anything could happen.

Gods, 'Kaito' might be invited to 'Shinichi's' wedding - even if he gave Ran up, that's gotta hurt. He better have a good poker face, hee hee.

What puzzles me now is Aoko hasn't figured out anything? Sure, 'Kaito' may have changed over that time spent helping his cousin, but I can't imagine him having the same body language as the original Kaito. She's been chasing him around for years with her mop, and I can't see 'Kaito' dodging in the same ways. Surely she'd pick up on this, even unconsciously. Are there any doubts swirling in the back of her mind? That, I would like to know.

Other than that, good job.

The story kinda blew my mind. It's really unusual and unique with a hint of creepy. Not to mention that it's incredibly sad. Heh, it's definitely a fic that's going to stay in my head for awhile.
