WAH! Ooh, so wonderful. My favorite out of... well, but everything else you write is so good too and it's... yeah. But this is still special. Different. I don't know. Maybe because it fits in with "Story Time" and "Accusations" so well... or maybe because it stands on its own so well... but anyway, fie on this lack of quality shizzit! This is so horribly wonderful. The emotion is just a physical blow.

"So why did he have to think about it?" -Mn, such a lovely graduation from the last bit - which is also wonderful...

"Of course not." -Possibly the best part. Just that little sentence, all on its onesy and crying because there's no one to talk to... Of course, it wouldn't mean the same without everything following it. But the impact is all right there, too, you know? Especially when you've read it several times, as it calls for. The definitiveness. He's Ayame. He has not apologized.

"He could say it a thousand times, on bended knee, but he knew he could never mean it. Maybe it would help, maybe it wouldn’t, but the insincerity would kill them both." -The previous part, I take it back, is the best except for this one. This rules. It's awful, nasty, icky. I love it. You have a sick mind.

Plus everything from there down... so lovely. Aya's dismissal, and Shigure knowing but making him face up to it a bit anyway... so much love.

I have to go slit my wrists now. GAH. Why is everyone evil? Ah, but I must go on living because YOU OWE ME YUKI/HARU for my birthday. Which is past, ma chere. I own you! Mua-HAHAHA.

I think your opening line is perfect for this fic. I personally have squicky feelings about opening with quote [although it has such a good effect... I don't know why I shy away from doing it]. So it's very nice to see it so wondefully done. Cuts right to the point.

I suppose his theory is, "Actions speak louder than words." And if he's tried so many actions, why bother with the words? Yuki already knows what he means, right? Aya is definately someone you could apply a "talk is cheap" theory to... but it's true, he ought to have tried simplest approach first. With Yuki's history, he's probably very likely to see Aya's elaborate planning style as "plotting."

Something like, "My only regret is that things turned out this way." Aya is sad that he and Yuki aren't close... but he wouldn't ever acutally undo the things he's done in the past that caused it. Therefore, no sincere regret, even if there is a sincere desire to change the way things are presently.

Ouch.

And you know... that actually would sum Ayame's actions up perfectly.
