Brilliant pairing, I never thought of it before but they are perfect for eachother, so cute!

aw, this is too lovely. i think that the age difference is bit larger, as paul was 13 or 14 by the end of anne of the island and elizabeth was maybe around 8 when anne met her later, but they are a perfectly fitting couple.

I never thought of them together before, but now that you've written about it, it just makes sense. (That SO seems like something Anne would do... devious subtle match-making... lol.) I enjoyed Susan. I think she's one of my favourite characters, though I can't tell exactly why. I like :)

Oh, that's so cute! I like Little Elizabeth/Paul, and you wrote it very well. My favourite line was this: "Both she and Paul were firmly possessed of the delusion that their visiting at Ingleside at the same time was purely a coincidence. Anne, who had never quite lost her love of matchmaking, did not think so-however, she was not inclined to disillusion them just yet."

Dear Anne! I must dig her out and give her a good talking to. I'll never forget her failed efforts in AoI...

I adore this pairing. It never occurred to me while reading the books to put Paul and Little Elizabeth together. I like the style you've used here. There's a bit of poetry in every word, which is perfect for them.

As to your self-criticism...I think perhaps it may seem a bit contrived because we're not seeing the entire story. We're jumping in at the end of their romance and miss out on their first meeting and their initial impressions. This works great as the short sketch that it is now, but I would love to read a longer version of it too.

I find it quite intresting you welcomed flames. lol. It's a very sweet story. I never really thought of Paul and Little Elizabeth before (though their age difference isn't that great right). But it's a perfect match.

I like that you paired Paul and Little Elizabeth. They're both characters that often are forgotten, but they're a lot alike.

Believe it or not, I've always thoght Little Elizabeth and Paul Irving absolutely perfect for each other (I almost used the pairing in one of my stories, but I just couldn't quite make it work). This is so sweet, and I love the Keats poem.

Wouldn't Little Elizabeth make the most beautiful bride? I can almost see her, in a long white dress and frosty veil, dancing in Rainbow Valley ...

Very, very lovely fic!

Oh, it's beautiful. And the age gap isn't that serious, after all! :)

Oh, this is so lovely! I never once thought of Paul and Little Elizabeth as a pairing but it seems so natural and wonderful when you write it - almost as if LMM herself intended it to be that way. I love the love story - but I think my favorite parts are the Susan-parts, especially at the end. She is just so well written. And think of how Susan would have to be moved in order for her to finally "believe in poetry!"
