| The-Shadow002 2007-05-19 ch 1, | abuseInteresting story here, I like how you've taken the movie and built the story around it. The comparisons between the movie and the situation between Kaname and Sousuke are quite well done. Nice work, every enjoyable. |
| Tairi Soraryu 2007-04-15 ch 1, | abuseCute story! Nice details of Kaname's thoughts regarding Sousuke, especially since he's not there to tell his side of the story. Great job, as always! |
| brindani 2007-04-07 ch 1, | abuseThat was kind of funny. I can see this going many interesting places. Sousuke may not know what to do with all the changes. It should make for a good read. brindani |
| MommyRogers 2007-03-03 ch 1, | abuseI love how you flesh out the characters, and put them in believable situations. I don't think I've read anyone else who has a grasp of these two the way you have. That being said - what happens next? How will Kaname use the information she's gained, how will it change her? And what will our dear seargent make of that? |
| greysky-chan 2006-12-16 ch 1, | abusevery nice! kinda depressing, though, dont ya thank? |
| momiji-k 2006-11-12 ch 1, | abuseThat was great. I have never seen the Horse Whisperer but I still enjoyed this story. I also ejoyed the refereces to the real Bishoujo games. I actaully have Kanna Little Sister and got a kick out of that one when I first read Kanna Imoto. :) This was another great fic from you and I can't wait to read the next one you come up with. What ever it might be. I am really impressed at how well you can write drama or comedy. A lot of people are really good at one and not the other. It's neat to be able to deal with both. :) |
| vic the anonymous reviewer 2006-11-10 ch 1, | abusethanks for another wonderful short story. I have seen some of the movies that you mention, and i have enjoyed them all. I wonder how you are going to connect any of this to a final happy ending, but there is always "Chip off the Old Block" and "Family Matters" to read for that. |
| Ishkabod 2006-11-07 ch 1, | abuseThanks once again for a wonderfull chapter or story. I think it's a good stand alone but not great by itself the return of sousuke and the full realization and her attempts to use what insight she gained from the movie would make it another wonderfully perfect story by the FMP fanfic MASTER(unless your a girl. it's the internet one can never tell for certin.) With those two and what can be done and what i have seen you masterfully twist the plotlines into it makes me giddy to think that there might be more of this story. I know you are good enough to keep it unpredictable. Thanks soo much for the story and if you want to leave it as a stand alone that's allright too. I would have loved more but i'm gratefull for every story i enjoy of yours. Thanks once again. Ishkabod |
| IronicEnding 2006-11-05 ch 1, | abuseI had my reservatations when i first saw the title of the story and just how good it would be. I knew right away you were making reference to the horse whisperer, and i've heard many things about it, both good and bad, but i myself have not seen it. Its always a little awkward reading a story that is being continuously compared to a subject matter that one has little knowledge about. However i should have known better, being a fan of yours. The intro to this chapter was nicely developed in displaying Sousuke's injured nature. I myself was already jumping to conclusions as to what Sousuke is expected to do, only to ironiclly meet this responce that i would have never expected out of him. On the one hand you want to think its because he has finally adapted to civillian life to some degree, but that hardly makes sense since his personal mission of recovering kaname had included anything but civilized behaviour. All the while Sousuke remains true to his personality with the 'uhhs'. The other bit of irony is that Kaname finally tamed her wild horse, but in doing so found it wasn't what she expected. It was like seeing a gorilla caged for years and years or perhaps one raised in captivity. After a while it just loses taht animalistic nature that made it who it was. There are so many overlapping themes playing and working together to truly inspire a great start to what must become a great story. Now when you move onto the movie store, i thought it was quite funny how the video store owner had a similar knack for giving long and detailed explanations on things kaname could care less about. Either Sousuke rubbed off on someone or there are more like him in the world. Either thought is a little frightening. Recounting the events of the movie itself were quite interesting as kaname recaleld her similar moments with Sousuke in the past. There was a nice parallel of him being her 'beast of burden' or 'work horse' that you described quite well. I wish i could comment on if kaname's reactoins were appropriate, as in was she too emotional with the movioe because of her real life expereinces, or if it was really such a tear jerker at moments. i guess the only way i could get a better idea is to see the movie itself. Well this chapter has definatly put it on my 'to watch' list. So far this fiction is thoughtful, insightful, and a bit tantalizing as we all wonder just what has sousuke acting differently now. I didn't see much of the humor i was accustomed to from thier unique relationship, but that wouldnt have fit here. All in all it is a fantastic job and i submit that you have once again risen the standards on what can be considered good fiction. |
| sabacat 2006-11-05 ch 1, | abuseThis is brilliant! I didn't like the move that much, but this makes me want to go rent it again... I'm so impressed with the way you saw a comparison with Kaname and Sousuke! |
| Exmes 2006-11-04 ch 1, | abuseInteresting start. I'm looking forward to see where you go with this. |
| Hououza 2006-11-04 ch 1, | abuseInteresting opener to this story. The film seemed to set the scene rather well, although I have to admit I wasn't overly impressed with it when dragged out to see it. None the less it will be interesting to see how Kaname makes use of the analogies in her dealings with Sousuke. Good luck & best wishes, Hououza |
