Lost in another daydream 2007-02-03 . chapter 1ur really lucky to have a bd like that. I'm in 8th grade and ive had the same bd since 6th grade and hes NOTHING like what ur bd sounds like. *sigh* my bd just hates me even though i finally made 1st chair F. Horn this year. ^-^ |
emilyxS 2006-11-21 . chapter 4Aw, this is great! I love it!
Ch. 1- so sad, so sad.
Ch. 2- it's funny, because I feel the same way and I'm a freshman. The girl that pwns me in playing clarinet was supposed to be a concert band member instead of in frosh band, but she lied to get out of it so she wouldn't have to march like concert band is required to do. And here I am, band geek extraordinaire, and she's lying to get out of marching! grr! So, totally something relatable. Poor kid.
Ch. 3- It gets better and better! Brava! :) |
Funkypunkydurdurchick 2006-11-13 . chapter 4Yet another awesome chapter!
I still think it was freaky how much The Grand Durdur is like your Mr. Countryman. I'm still going to keep reading, because the story's great! It's actually like my life, kinda. The old high school band director didn't like me very much, and then a year later, When Durdur took his place, I made first chair flute at all-region. I saw the old director at the last marching contest, and for some reason, he was, like, really nice to me. Huh.
Anyways, great story!

goldnote 2006-11-10 . chapter 3Very nice! I like it... I understand what you meant in the PM you sent about the relationship. There are a lot of director/student relationship stories out there (I add to that list! ^_^) but this has a very unique feel to it. It's really a father/daughter relationship than a "couple" relationship.
I like it very much (and the format is TONS better! Great job on that!) and I am looking forward to the next chapters! |
The island Josie 2006-11-10 . chapter 3aw man thats wrong u should have gotten the award that is also depressing that it wasnt the same guy man this story is pretty good though i cant wait for the next chapter |

Funkypunkydurdurchick 2006-11-09 . chapter 2I'm watching for a new chapter. I'm almost thinking that you go to our school, because our band director is just like that which you described. He deals with my little brother's sixth grade class like that. What instrument does your band director play?

Funkypunkydurdurchick 2006-11-09 . chapter 1Oh. My. Freakin. Gosh. That is just like my band director, as Josie says, down to the nose. Who are you, and why are you scaring me like this?

goldnote 2006-11-06 . chapter 1A good thing and a bad thing I have to point out:
Good thing: I really like this story idea! It's something I can relate too (my director is like a brother or a cousin to me, someone to protect me) and I thought you really captured his "spirit" in the story.
Not so good thing: the format is really frustrating to try and read. Maybe if you extended on the thoughts and broke everything down instead of making one paragraph, it would read much easier.
All in all, it's a nice start! I'm looking forward to more (if there is more, that is!) ^_^ |
emilyxS 2006-11-06 . chapter 1Say... I'll just throw this out there.
And I'm probably wrong... but is the BD's name funny because it has something to do with Bad.. singing?
Yeah, totally forget it if it doesn't. ^^;;
But anywho, when you find someone you connect with it's really cool. I think of my BD as being an older brother of sorts, rather gross, and annoying but also funny and caring. Good Bd= the best ^^ |
