You really have a way with words. The fact that you were able to create a character, with faults, and a human soul was very impressive. The trainer was so much like a normal person, selfish. You took the whole topic of evolution to another level, THAT'S SO COOL! Your right, evolution is the bond between trainer and pokemon. These two must have had a big backround.

I am impressed with this story and its true that evolution is a bond between the pokemon and its trainer. have you ever wondered that in the game. when you dont use your pokemon for a long time they get sad AND dont level up. unlike the one you always use levels up fast and evolves quickly? its good Nintendo made pokemon have a sense. This has to be one of the better fanfictions I've read, I liked the feelings portrayed by the trainer, and how you described evolution, 'Evolution was not to gain power; it was a symbol of the bond deep within trainer and Pokemon'. A lovely quote indeed, I'm going to have to agree with you on that. The only thing I see that needs a bit of improvement, would be the length of the story, it's a tad on the short side, so you might want to work on that. Other than that, great!

Cool fic! I agree though, evolution is not gaining power, it is growing up, whether through trust, friendship, or whatever, both the pokemon and the trainer evolve in their understanding of each other! Great fic though!
