 kitten_chloe 2006-11-20 . chapter 1 Liked it!
"Oh, it was Simon who had pulled her from the cold hands that had turned her into alliance property. He had sacrificed everything to rescue her and she didn't think a future could ever be repaid, though perhaps it could be balanced in some way. Perhaps she had already started that."
Thank you for that line about Simon. Too many people bash him and suggest that he wasn't really helping River by sacrificing everything, and that what she really needed was a good shag from Jayne Cobb. Yuck. |
Nisus 2006-11-16 . chapter 1This is a very nice fic, very understated, but reflects well River's state of mind after the events of Serenity - or at least, how I think River's mind would be. Everyone seems in character, and there are a lot of little characterisations like the tea and the card game that personalise the story. I like it :) |
Tom O'Bedlam 2006-11-11 . chapter 1I love this! Your River is perfectly in character, as are Simon and Kaylee and Mal and Zoe. It's a lovely out-take from everyday life on Serenity. I love that even River can lose at solitaire. Only thing wrong, so far as I can see, is a few moments where the writing jarred a little. For example, I love the idea that River thinks of the ship as an entity, and that Mal agrees with her. But you didn't need to say so; you've made it perfectly clear in the dialogue. Otherwise, though, this was amazing. I don't why I'm the first reviewer. What's wrong with everyone? |
