A very painful read--which means that you did an outstandingly credible job of making this believable, of writing it from Kyo's point of view.

You know, it's really kinda sad. Kyo is just so innocent in there, and he doesn't even realize that he didn't do anything wrong - it's not his fault for being the Cat...

Wasn't it his dad that always blamed the stuff on him, though? Whatever, now I have a new sympathy for the Neko.

It was written wonderfully, and (it's probably useless in telling you this) it could be a really great prologue for a wonderfully angsty story, do you realize that?

Ya it is important that yu read the manga, the tv show is crappy and leaves out so much. I strongly rcommend reading the books.

I think this fanfic does well filling in the gaps of Kyo's relationship with his mother, because, though briefly introduced, she does seem the kind of person to abuse him in such a way. That would explain his angst and hatred towards his mother. Good job.

Aw. Poor Kyo. That is too sad and mean. I feel bad for his Mother too in a way. She accepted him demo at the same time she resented him. Poor Kyo he didn't know what to do. Arigato
