abuseWOW. This is very good.

You've managed to do the Legato x OC part very well, making the OC who passed his powers on to Legato very much a part of the plot yet not overwhelming the fic or the canon plot. ^_^

You're also one of the best Legato writers ever: you can get him so in-character it's like reading the manga itself. ^_^

Congratulations on a wonderful addition to this site. ^_^

abuseOnce again, very well done. Legato's a hard character to handle correctly, but you've got him down almost perfectly.

I'm assuming that the blond a the beginning, the one with the soft blue eyes, was Vash. Which only makes Legato's hatred of him that much more believable; given the sort of life he was forced to live, for someone to promise him they'd take him away from it would've been enough, in and of itself, to inspire love and devotion. To have that person break the promise would almost certainly ensure Legato's lifelong hate.

And I liked how he gradually 'discovered' his powers and used them to protect himself. In the manga, when you first see him in that white robe, and he makes the remark along the line of "If I wished to, I could make 100 men do my bidding," I always assumed that to mean he'd discovered his power, but probably didn't have complete control of it. And what's funny is a friend of mine and I agreed that, if he did use his power, it would almost certainly be to make sure the 'patrons' didn't hurt him. I also think, despite his remarks otherwise, that Knives must've surely 'sensed' him when he was destroying the town.

I look forward to your stories. As I said, you've got Knives and Legato's personalities and relationship down so perfectly. I think, in his own way, Legato truly does love Knives if only because 'he' saved him after his brother broke his promise.
