On the subject of your last note...yes, you are. The idea of Deidara crying is almost too much to bear. The idea of Tobi being dead like that is nearly worse. And just the picture of Deidara having nothing left to care for but that stupid mask...yes. Anguish!

The choppiness at the beginning of the death scene is extremely effective in creating a sort of drowning sensation. With each line, it just gets worse...we keep descending. The lack of connectivity in that scene also rocks. It's totally how I think Deidara would feel grief; like he's fighting it so hard that only bits of anything can even get through.

Awesome job on this. For the length, it's simply amazing. My only wish is that, yes, it was a bit longer. Not on the grief parts, but on the relationship between the two. Just the last line you use in the first section makes the reader wonder if Deidara was angry with Tobi during the battle -- if, maybe, it had something to do with the death. Sorry, just me wondering...wonderful. You did a heart-breaking job.
