I don't like her in canon; occasionally fanfic comes up with a version I can stomach and this is one such. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was maybe an explanation or hints as to why Carson won't talk when she first finds him, and how he did wind up in that situation. Otherwise it's a sweet, poignant story and I very much enjoyed it.
