This was a freakin fantastic story! I absolutely loved it! Action, suspense, humor, love, all of it. The epilogue was kind of confusing. I'm guessing that new guy that took over Smith's place succeeded with his project and ten years later Earth was destroyed. Which kinda sucked then, Natsuki and Shizuru died in their early 30's. Still an awesome story!

Well, I've finally finished reading this, and I have to say, incredibly good job overall. This is one of the best fics out there I've read (and since I'm normally a fluff fan, that's saying something). You have a really good writing style, and are quite good at thinking up stories as well. I look forward to when I find the time to read your other fics.

Have to say, I really like your explanation for all the plot-holes HiME left us. Quite thorough, and makes a fair bit of sense. The story did have its charm in a Lord of the Flies sort of way, but I still do like an explanation now and then.

One little tidbit on medieval weaponry however: The weapon that Otome uses is properly termed a "flail," thanks to the chain - maces never have chains on them. If it's identical to the one Haruka uses and has the spiked head, "morning star" would also be appropriate. That one refers to the head specifically, and could also be appropriate in referring to a mace with a spiked head. Or you could just throw them both together and call it a "morning star flail." Okay, I'll disengage medieval-weaponry-nerd mode now. ^^
