Wasn't sure what this was going to be when I opened it up, but hey, you haven't let me down yet (and if I don't slow down I'll be all out of Sholio fic before the week is up). There was action! Whump! Kavanagh as a drug dealer (hee! high school dropout!), Steve, Bob, and the boys, as well as great snark. Them tying Rodney up with bungee cords, and him thinking of it as "redneck hell", CRACKED me up! Caldwell the crotchety kind old neighbor, and was that Novak as the post office lady? Snickered probably too much at the thought of Weir in the CIA, in charge of WMD programs, Miss 'Negotiate' herself ;) All of the little tie-ins to the series had me grinning, from all of the mentioned above, to the 'siege' of the house. All of this, and bacon! "He'd always been a sucker for bacon." Me too, Rodney, me too. XD Damn that bacon siren... Okay, enough shameless ego pumping, guess I'll just go move on to another one. Darn you... and your good fic.

mirth513 2007-07-19 ch 1, anon.	abuseI am not generally a fan of AU stories. Usually i just skip over them. I am SO glad i printed this one out and read it. This story is a hoot, and a true gem. WONDERFUL! Great characterisation, (i luv Kavanuagh as a drug dealer, i can so see him in his little airstream hovel!) and as always you've truly captured each character's unique "voice". Kudos! Your name is now on my automatic printout list. Looking forward to your next foray into fiction, cheers, later - mirth513

It really is the characters that make SGA so wonderful, and you've done an outstanding job replacing their circumstances while allowing them to remain wholly themselves!

I also like that you stayed true to voices of each character. And the Wraith rednecks - priceless. Good job.

I could actually see this as an episode if the team ever visited an alternate universe. Being a Sheyla fan, through and through, I would have loved to have seen more interaction between those two but other than that it was very enjoyable...it was a little slow around the middle but it picked up.. :-)

Loved seeing john, teyla and rodney caring for each other, and the different lives you gave them, but were still related to the ones they have on the show!! wonderful story!

katriel1987 2007-02-24 ch 1,	abuseI have to say this is just about my favorite Atlantis AU. I love how skillfully and believably you wove in elements from the show. I love how true and real the characters' interactions were, and how you kept their personalities despite the very different situation. I grew up in Texas, in the middle of nowhere, 60 miles from the Mexican border. I've known Border Patrol, and I've known illegals, and have helped out plenty of them. This story struck an incredible chord for me, brought back memories, and rang true to the surroundings. Well done.
Brielle 2007-01-24 ch 1, anon.	abuseHey, I know I'm horrible but I very rarely review pieces. That being said, I had a very strong desire to tell you how much this story blew me away. I was really hesitant to read it at first cuz it didn't have to do with Atlantis but the way you wrote it..it was perfect. The characters were very well done, McKay especially, and the story wasn't rush and wasn't lagging. My only problem with this fic is that it ended and I wonder if you could be persuaded to write a sequel, perhaps where Teyla's character could better be explored..but keep the gang together of course ;) Greedy, aren't I? Anyway, thank you very much for this fic, it really made my day. Good job.
