Good, articulate rendition of Kenshin's basic dilemma. You've explained his sense of inevitability with the path he chose most eloquently, and your comparisons between Kenshin and the other characters were quite perceptive.

Very nice, well written and insightful. I like the way you had Kenshin consider in turn Kaoru, Yahiko, Sano, and Saitou, and contrast himself to each of them. And I really liked how in the end you kept it ambiguous: it could have been avoided... but in other ways it was inevitable. Deep, and kind of chilling. Well done.

Good, depressing analysis of our Rurouni. I think maybe Aoshi would be someone who could understand Kenshin since he too fought and killed at a young age in the Bakumatsu. In fact, he was younger than Kenshin when he fought so perhaps he knows a bit of Kenshin's turmoil.

Interesting point of view.
