Pannymoomins 2009-10-10 . chapter 1beautiful, really IC and it made me go all sappy and want to hug john! bless him and his geeky-ness! i love their friendship and you described it perfectly! |
 Potterworm 2009-07-03 . chapter 1great story, loved it |
 PsychologicallyTorturous 2008-06-02 . chapter 1O.M.G.
That was AMAZING. Seriously.
AND...that is so like me! At school I'm almost emo at times, and I like it, yet I go home and it's ME that watches Star Trek re-runs! And I often seem to pretend to not know what I'm doing in classes when I do. My God, this John is like my long lost twin or something...
That's just scary how similar I am to this John.
I'm in shock! |
Angel Dust 2008-05-19 . chapter 1 Love the story. Got John SHeppard down to a tee. You ever thought of doing one for Rodney? I'd love to see what you come up with for him! |
Space1Traveler 2008-02-27 . chapter 1Your expose' of John Sheppard was the best! It was a sure 8.5 hankie. I could just see him change from stage to stage and it all made sense that he is who he is today. Only in the world of fandom could this happen; to speak about a tv character as if he was alive and flesh, I love this stuff (Only 9,9 stories to go.) Thank you! |
 Dybdahl 2007-09-02 . chapter 1I like it. |
AbsolutAnda 2007-06-02 . chapter 1That made me really happy...well, the end did anyway.
The beginning was sad but very believable.
Ah yes, the white christian superiority complex.
I've heard my dad (retired USAF pilot) rant about them many times.
Sheppard has always reminded me of my dad...but in better health.
Great story! |
Reius Devirix 2007-02-02 . chapter 1Hey! That was really cool. Very very good. |
Twinchy 2007-01-29 . chapter 1Brilliant FanFic! Stunning story-telling, very entertaining and sometimes heart-quenching. Amazing how you worked out a fitting back-story for Col. Sheppard. I truly can imagine the things you described so vividly to be the reason behind John’s becoming who he is now. In one word: awesome! |
SGAFan 2007-01-17 . chapter 1OMG! I love that! Great examination of Sheppard! *applause* |
 Ditzyleo 2007-01-04 . chapter 1that was- wow!
I adore this. No I really do! You did John's back story so perefctly and totally in keeping with his character.
*adds to favs* |
Hromiko 2006-12-01 . chapter 1This was a great story! I liked the look at John's growing up. The boarding thing seems just right for him! I never thought too much about his slouching and sarcasm and all that (more focused on McKay), but really it all seemed right on. I love the way you write him coming to realizations, like nonfiction is good and AFROTC isn't so bad and being in charge is nice. With his rank and being a pilot he probably wasn't really in charge of things other than his flight crew, it would be a big change to suddenly be in charge of everyone. I liked your explanation of his family life, the way he doesn't talk about his past leaves a lot of unanswered questions. I'd love to see him with piercings and green hair! I like the idea that he wants to keep people away and just didn't manage to with McKay (lately I've been vacillating about how friendly they really are, sometimes they seem to have great scenes together, then other times I think people are making something giant of their friendship out of nothing. Does John treat Rodney any differently, in a more friend-like way, from everyone else? Sigh, I think I need to rewatch more episodes and study this question. ;) ). This was well written and a nice look at what makes up John. Keep on writing! |
Reyson 2006-11-29 . chapter 1Just read this and you've given us a wonderful and believable back story to Sheppard, his disfuntional family, why he doesn't have contact with any one on earth, how he got into the Airforce, etc. All wonderfully done! |
Andi 2006-11-29 . chapter 1 Okay, this one is definitely a keeper. This is one of the most thoughtful, sensitive (and yet not overly tragic) fics I've ever read about John Sheppard. The whole story just fits.
You know when you read a backstory fanfic that works so well that your subconscious just accepts it as canon? Synecdochic's Recovering the Satellites is one for SG-1's Cameron Mitchell. And this is another one of those. Thanks!

Alipeeps 2006-11-28 . chapter 1That was absolutely wonderful. A detailed, thoughtful, very credible look at Sheppard's backstory and his interactions with other people. Beautiful. If only the show would give us something like this! *lol* |
