...Wow. This was a pretty dark oneshot, huh? It was kinda short, but it was good. The ending was really gory, though. I wish Penelo hadn't died, but the sort of Balthier/Penelo fic was still really good, at least I think so.

FINALLY A BALTHIER X PENELO PAIRING! And I thought I was the abnormal one, coming up with such an unlikely pairing (I've since switched to Penelo x Larsa)

But anyways, it's a tragic one-shot. And having to die alone with no one to rescue her... it's very sad. And the ending is very touching.

Very well written, good description and a good story overall, despite the length. Brilliant work.

OMG! That was so wonderfully touching. I actually laughing pretty damn long... I know its a bad thing to do but the way it was potrayed (in a good way!) made me remember how much I disliked her involvement in FFXII just for 'being' there and 'being' Vaan's best friend-and that being it. So when you have the leading man--best thing of said game it just made me extremely happy to see something so wonderfully written about two things I'd love to see X)

Ooh, you threw in such an unexpected twist in the end I cringed when I read your descriptions on Penelo's death--very gory, but very satisfying. I think it's better this way--it isn't like the generic fairytale of a princess getting saved by her knight or a princely prince. This princess gets eaten by hell hounds.

So I was kinda expecting him to find her and something would conspire between the two. But...hey...guess this works too. I absolutely adore Balthier and Penelo. They were my obvious fav. couple from the beginning when Vaan first seen interaction between the two. They kinda remind me of Rikku and Gippal who I also adore. Anyway, great job although I kind of would have liked Penelo alive.

Short and bittersweet. Believable, too. I expected Penelo to be saved, but her demise was an unexpected twist. Good details and not over-romantic.

That almost made me cry, I swear. It was beautifully written, and even with the details it was elegant and not at all the hellish horror flick that such events usually prompt. Wonderful characterization as well. Rather believable and very sad.
