Where's the rest? No... I'm almost glad. If there's going to be a sad ending, I don't want one.

Are you quite aware that this is one of the most intelligent ffs I've ever read? I'll never get any revision done.

I adored this chapter. I don't think I have laughed so much at fanfiction in my life. Though I do miss poor old watson. This is my favourite line :
“Would you all like to talk a bit more, and more loudly about literature? Perhaps if we name enough poets loudly enough, she’ll think we’re intellectuals.”
Thank you. I apologise for not reviewing on previous chapters, but it was late and the sound of my typing was sure to wake my parents. What's more, I wanted uninterrupted reading. Well done.

I love this story! I just found it last night and between then and now I have read it strait thru. It is just lovely. Your characters have great depth to them, and while they seem, in my opinion, more playful at times then they are in canon, you still keep great Holmes and Watson voices. Very believable. I do hope you plan to write more! Thank you so much for sharing.

I know you haven't been on-site for over a year, and that the chances of you ever seeing this are slim, but I'd just like to say that I LOVE your writing. It's so rare to find a happy story that still makes you want to cry as well as laugh. I really hope you keep it up, wherever you are, and that I get the chance to see more of your work one of these days. Thank you so much for all your stories!

You put my own meager writing skills to shame...
And that's all I can think of to say...

I read this for 3 days in between moving, unpacking, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and doing a vast array of other annoying things that kept me from gobbling up this story in one go. But I will say it occupied my mind in the best way through my tedious chores. There were so many aspects of this story that I felt were like uncovering little treasures, and I was very covetous of every new piece of information revealed as if it were canon. It may not be canon anywhere but in my heart, but you made this so believable, touching and in character... Well done. And I LOVE footnotes. On sacrilege! (the H/W website) they have a lot of stories with footnotes. So much fun to learn more stuff about the sherlockian era!
With many thanks and much admiration,
Amanda

well, I'm just about to read this story all over again and must tell you again how much I love it--it's just the most awesome story I've ever read about Holmes and I mean it.

I actually didn't want to ask you in a review, but I can't send you a message, so I'll do it this way:
I'm a German nativspeaker and I would really like to translate your story. Sadly there are very few good Holmes stories in German and many fans are not able to read English texts on this level.
I would be very happy if you allowed me to translate it, but I'd understand if you don't.

I'm very impressed. This is probably the most refined story I have ever read on this site. Your level of detail really blew me away. All of the historical cross referencing was amazing; you really seem to have a scholarly grasp of the subject material. And, my only real question here is, what in god's name are you doing writing fanfiction?

Stunning. Simply stunning. Your profound knowledge on litreature truly adds realism to the world your Watson and Holmes lived in.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The references to Holmes weight - (or lack thereof it!) always made me smile. Bless his waifishness! ^^

I do hope you continue this story. Congratulations on an amazing piece of writing!

Hi! This story looks very promising. I just wondered if there is a version of this story without footnotes. Personally I think that footnotes in a fictional story tend to be jarring. And I do know who Dorian Gray is. :-)
