Oh, my.
Well, I'm brand spanking new to Firefly fandom, mostly because I'm scared to death of sifting through a bunch of fic that butchers the voice and rhythm of Whedonverse banter. But I've had it in my head for the last 36 hours about what an awesome pairing River and Jayne would make. Found this fic on lj community het_reccers and I just have to say YES please! OMG - your tone is great and there was so much here that made my grin from ear to ear, made my heart get a little mushy, and just... yeah. Adding your to favorites. :D

This story is surpassing excellent. Tightly phrased, beautifully paced. I love it.

Great story, you're ability to capture both Jayne's and River's voices in here are just perfect- the cadence of their speech, they're phrasing and words, all just wonderful. Loved the story, would love to see more of this pairing. Thanks for a great read!

Neat how Jayne was still gruff and Rayne was still crazy but it made sense that they got along.

Loved this! So in character, and its all so sweet! And it made me giggle like mad!

Here from Autumnmists's rec on CrackBroom. This is a delight from start to finish. You render these characters so perfectly and fit them together in ways the show never had time to explore. My favorite, of many things that I love here, is the ingenious conceit that Jayne is the easiest for River to be around because his thoughts are simpler. I'm also thrilled that River finally got through to someone about the creepy nitrile glove men with their haemmoraging stick of doom. I thought the comics dealt with them in a boring and cursory way, and I love the way you're filling in the blanks. I see that there are several stories in this series, and I am really looking forward to reading them all. Thank you for this wonderfully sensitive and genuinely warm tale. Brava!
