Great story, you're ability to capture both Jayne's and River's voices in here are just perfect- the cadence of their speech, they're phrasing and words, all just wonderful. Loved the story, would love to see more of this pairing. Thanks for a great read!

Here from Autumnmists's rec on CrackBroom. This is a delight from start to finish. You render these characters so perfectly and fit them together in ways the show never had time to explore. My favorite, of many things that I love here, is the ingenious conceit that Jayne is the easiest for River to be around because his thoughts are simpler. I'm also thrilled that River finally got through to someone about the creepy nitrile glove men with their haemmoraging stick of doom. I thought the comics dealt with them in a boring and cursory way, and I love the way you're filling in the blanks. I see that there are several stories in this series, and I am really looking forward to reading them all. Thank you for this wonderfully sensitive and genuinely warm tale. Brava!

Wow. That's all I have to say. This story exhibits some of the best damn characterizations I've ever read in all of Firefly fanfiction. The dialect, and each person's speech sounded EXACTLY like their characters. Because even Jayne and Mal, while they both have that southern-y talk about them, have two completely different ways of going about it, and you nailed them PERFECTLY. Plus, this was frakkin' hilarious. Loved, loved, LOVED, Mal's "...use a metaphor on that child?" Cracked. Me. Up. And the River/Jayne interactions were just golden. Jayne's infuriation slowly turning into slight annoyance. And River's crazy talk was the perfect doses of crazy and philosophical. For someone who needs a regular Firefly fix, and can't get it because Fox is ridiculous, this was EXACTLY what the junkie ordered. You are an incredibly talented author, to the point where I'm even afraid to continue writing the keep writing a Firefly fic I've been working.
