jeevesandwooster 2009-08-04 . chapter 5Ok wow. I thought Two Gorram Days was adorable but this was phenomenal. You have an insane grasp on the characters: both high and low points. Your take on Jayne's place in the crew and on Simon's inability to fit in are insightful and brilliant. I've always been fond of the two and couldn't quite articulate why. You really have brought out the best of them.
And gorram it it's now 3:22 in the morning and I promised to take my little brother out to swim early...damn you and your fully immersive story telling. (I don't think immersive is a word actually...but it works)

Mundungus42 2009-06-30 . chapter 5I thank you for the bottom of my heart for creating a plausible reason for River to know how to fly the boat, and for having Inara no longer be a Companion. As well as giving Mal a stern talking-to over his treatment of Jayne and having Simon and Inara come to an understanding, and well, pretty much everything here. Fantastically done, as always! Brava! |
Blurr 2009-05-25 . chapter 5 Moving on to the next part of this series, as it has now broken past atmosphere and gravity and whatnot. Also known as page-turny. |
Blurrr 2009-05-25 . chapter 2 Also, um, I love this chapter. Like a lot.
(VERY MUCH) |
Blurr 2009-05-25 . chapter 2 Actually, I like this story better than Two Gorram Days. TGD didn't quite mesh with my perception of the characters... I suppose maybe Kinship would make less sense if I hadn't read TGD before but actually I'm not sure of that. Bringing in Jayne's family made me see the justification behind what you were doing with him (even if honestly it's getting a trifle annoying having him one-up Simon all the time. /pet peeve)
But yeah. I'm really enjoying this so far. |
Turquoise Girl 2009-04-03 . chapter 5Yay! Inara's back! Total sense of deja vu when she came back on board.

Turquoise Girl 2009-04-03 . chapter 4Lol, "the Big Scary Man discount." The shopping trip was fun to read. The way the petty thugs looked upon Jayne with envy, the shoe stop, River listing what ammo was needed, and the candy reward kept making me go "Aww." That was totally awesome the way everyone was defending Jayne.

Turquoise Girl 2009-04-03 . chapter 3Go Simon! He really is a great big brother. Poor River, got yelled at.

Turquoise Girl 2009-04-03 . chapter 2I like Simon and Inara's talks. They let their guards down to one another.

Turquoise Girl 2009-04-03 . chapter 1"Reavers crocheting." That was awesome and a good bit of imagery. For that alone, this story is going on my favorites.

The General G of K 2009-03-21 . chapter 5Excellently written again! Characters=perfect. Dialogue=perfect/hilarious. I love this series so much, and my only regret is that I didn't start reading Firefly fanfiction earlier, so I could find this series earlier. And coming from someone who VEHEMENTLY despised even the mere thought of River/Jayne, I have to say, my heart is POSSIBLY softening by a microfraction. And that is all a tribute to your wonderful writing. Honestly though, I really love Jayne in this. I have a tendancy to scope out Mal/Inara pieces, and I'm just so glad I came across these stories because I'm really liking Jayne's character development. And I'm even enjoying River, who I never really warmed up to in the series. Can't wait to find the next part.

Ironbear 2009-01-19 . chapter 5You do an excellent job of capturing all of the characters, especially the unique voices. And the growing friendship between River and Jayne is both realistic and believeable here. |
Welfycat 2008-12-02 . chapter 5Wonderful! I was so happy when Inara came back! I wish this was canon! |
Welfycat 2008-12-01 . chapter 2Awesome, fabulously awesome. And when I saw the string/ribs thing, I was all "Jane Eyre, YAY!" |
Halfpastdead001 2008-09-27 . chapter 5this is sutch a wonderfull story i like it it makes me happy |
