Call me a sap, but I honestly teared up after the first time I read this. Yeah, it's that good. The last line was the cincher; you really brought the longing to the forefront in this. Bravo!

... Wow. I KNEW there had to be something about that necklace! Bleh, damned nick will probably never show any obsession type of thing... sigh. Stories are so much more dramatic when they have a really really dark aspect ... if you ask me, that is. Not that this is dark or anything in the respect that I typically like my shadowy corners to be, but obsession is one of many things that can lead one into a spiral of doom and-- oh dear, I did it again... my bad. ANYWAYS, it wasn't particularly light and fluffy either (though those are often great reads as well *cough*), so it had a sortof honey-like quality to it. Just the right touch of sweet, but comes from things that sting. Very nice~ to my favorites, even if I don't pass it around to fellow avatar fans (which I still might).

i loved it! it's hard to find anything good in 1st person, but you did it really nicely. it wasn't out of character, except for what would be the unexpected love of the necklace, but that's the premise of the whole thing, and a really good one at that. i loved the atmosphere of the piece, and how it ended. thanks so much for writing it!
