Amazing story! I love how realistic it is. If ATLA wasn't a kid's show, then this would perfectly fit. I loved Mai's perspective the most. You grasped her character well. (:

Although I despise Zutara, I had to read this because of the Maiko in it. And yeah, I feel pretty bad for her. D: Poor poor poor poor Mai.

I really adored the fic, it's a very realistic view on what could happen - especially from the point of view of someone such as myself, who is a History Major specializing in royal houses/courts. This is something that has happened all too often in history and I love how you've put it into play in this fic. You also have an amazing and fluidic writing style. Very nicely done! :D

wow. just wow. You're such a great writer. So who is Zuko married to? I know his lover's Mai :) (she's always been my favorite) but I can't tell who's his wife from context. Hmm. another puzzle... oh well, I'll probably kick myself when I find out. *sigh*
You have a unique and wonderful style - i've never been able to write in first person hindsight, the past told in the present. Apparently it's really hard. One last comment - very angsty! Maybe it's just the twisted person I am, but I love angst, esp. Zuko and Mai. This brings it to a whole new level. Well done, congrats, and thanks!

aw, thats sad to a certain level, adorable to another, and real life on all levels. at least, the real life where i am stuck.

wow that was slightly depressing on mai's part. i hope thats how u spell her name. i actually felt sorry for her.. it was weird. i like how even if they were having an affair katara sorta felt guilty about it. thats exactly how she would feel. and i definitely liked how u ended it.. w/ a reference to the characters that we know as of now... and ur right. its mostly teen not quite at mature.
