Tenderfoot 2009-05-06 . chapter 1Wow. That was scary, but brilliant. I loved the fact that Scott knew there was something wrong with the game they were playing but couldn’t quite say what was wrong with it. And of course I enjoyed seeing Gambit. And even Magneto, even if he was being a big meanie as usual.
And I’m not sure what freaked me out more, the fact that Jean started to manipulate the dreidel without knowing it (Phoenix anyone?) or that Xavier is so casual about fixing the problem.
Amazing story. I absolutely adore every word of it. :) |
Mrs. Daysprings 2009-02-06 . chapter 1A glimpse of the phoenix streching it's wings. :) And Gambit ...mmh, Gambit. And I thought it was brilliant how Scott knew there was something wrong, but wasn't sure what was wrong.
Beautiful fic-let. :) |
prieda 2007-01-09 . chapter 1 Wonderful. I particularly liked the repetition og 'something is wrong with this game', it built up the tension nicely. And I like that you included Gambit, that boy is underapreciated. |
WCUGirl 2006-12-16 . chapter 1This was a very interesting story. I like the ones wherein Erik is still at the mansion helping Xavier with the students. I also liked how Scott attempted to take care of Jean, but in the end (as most of Scott's good deeds go) it was unappreciated. You used really nice imagery at the end:
"Until that moment, Scott fastens his arms tight around his shoulders, shuts his eyes against their own pulsing force, and breathes in the seconds of pure cold solitude during which he is once again a runaway."
So sad. I love it! Great angst! Thank you :) :) |
