Oh ouch! That was a kick to the head. But we need stories like these. Can't have a happy ending all the time. (and I suppose this was happy-ish) Upbeat in horrifying way?)

I know you wrote this forever and a day ago but I just wanted to let you know it's a beautiful and sad story and I absolutely loved it even though I almost cried.

This was so beautiful and sad and lovely. I wanted John to be better but I'm glad he wasn't; it would have been a disservice to the story. The baby step was the right happy ending that a lesser author would likely have shied away from. Off now to read everything else you've done :-)

Beautiful. I try to avoid stories like this because I hate it when characters loose themselves and don't come back. But the way you wrote it...John was still John, and ROdney was still ROdney and it was just beautiful. I also think I like it because you made the damage irreversable, you kept it real and didn't give it an easy 'quick-fix' ending, which is what makes the end worth reading. THanks.

Interesting story. It was Sheppard Whump from Rodney's point of view. I do like the ending. You left it open for Sheppard to make progress.

That was excellent, both sweet and sad. And very well written. I liked how you managed to keep slash out of the picture. Too many people write stories similar to this (toruter then comfort) and end up making it slash as though it's the only way to really convery caring. Some have done stories where there's no slash but but the show of emotions still kind of makes you squirm uncomfortably. This was done beautifully. It's going in the favs list.

poor John... you should continue writing to this, its very open ended. Does John ever talk more then "together". Can Rodney get him to open up more.
