I can't help but think that putting a girl up to bat is the LAST thing any of the sandlot boys would do. Remember in the movie when they were talking to Phillips and Ham said he played bacll like a girl? Yeah. I'm pretty sure they hold the same comtempt for actual girls whether they can play or not. Unless you're planning on having them tease her and what not in the next chapter... I don't know but that's all part of the intrigue = ) I'd like to read more soon, please! Blue PS.
