 imokit 2009-10-15 . chapter 17Good story! |
Vampyre Moon 2009-09-07 . chapter 17i dont know if you meant it to be but this is a depressing, down sort of break |
Bixata 2009-05-23 . chapter 17Great chapter! As always, I love the interaction between L'masee and Jac, and this was some very difficult issues they had to deal with, concerning Jac's future with SG-1. The humor is great, it so fits with the characters and the overall feel of the show. Really, really great story, thanks so much for the update. |
Serran 2009-05-20 . chapter 2Okay, I just read the first two chapters and skimmed the reviews. I thought what I was about to write had been writen dozens of times already and I would just chew through things again. But I found no mention of it.
First the only thing that I am going to repeat from other, it is a pretty good story, even if I am not sure that I will read all of it.
Now to my nitpick and the plottholes I observed, I try to keep it relatively close to the succesion of events.
How did they hide that the female Jack never left Earth? And only came back with SG 5?
While a lot of the evidence can be destroyed any unsheldued offworld activation has armed personal swarming in the Gateroom, not to mention that the window is permanently manned.
Daniel, who got before his peers and basiclly said: "Everything you ever thought you knew about the Pyramids is wrong, here is the evidence." Is not a follower, he follows Jack's lead because that is what he signed up to do to rescue his wife and he understands that he is not the person to ask when it concerns looking at things from a military angle.
Another example represent the first contact with the tollan.
He srcewed over the military brass by helping them pretty badly.
The worst part to date however is the decision regarding the female O'Neill by the Pentagon, apparently against the explicit wishes of the President.
The President is the CiC 'Commander in Chief' the Big Cheese, the Head Honcho. However you want to call it, the Pentagon and its Generals are there to coordinate and command the armed forces.
The President commands the Pentagon.
And that is the crux of the matter, if Hayes disagrees with what they want to do to O'Neill then they (wohever they are, you mention no names, maybe becaue they did not apper in the show or you want to have them as mysterious, threatening presence in the background) then they are going to follow orders. At least if they want to retain their place in the Pentagon. I do not doubt there is a lot of politicing going on there. That does not mean I believe they would or could put presure on the President to cave in such a matter.
Whatever beef they have with O'Neill, he saved this world, more then once. He defied standing Orders that go to, or nearly to the top of the military command structure to do this the first time. (Apophis two Hatak's on the way to earth) There were no repercusions and Carter was even promoted because the alternative was far to bad to even contemplate.
Another point: Hammond is Chief of Homeworld security which reports directly to the President and the IOA. And no one else.
The IOA and every of it's member nations would have kittens if the SGC and it's technology was at the disposal of the entire United States armed forces. Not to mention what they are going to have to say about this situation.
Because when the military get's politically the Politicans will also want to get their say. And the entire SGC is only still an American military base because of O'Neill.
Not to mention the fact that the only reason why there is still a Pentagon is SG-1 under O'Neill.
Regarding the demotion: If "they" erased O'Neill's comission then they have no hold over her.
And they can not simple create a new one with the new identity. Because not only does this needs Paperwork, where Jacqeline would have to sign everything again, they need her cooperation.
There are laws in place that they can not simply ignore, and one of them is the right to choose.
Because the American military is build around the fact that you sign up for duty. What are they going to do if she does not play ball? Kill her? Imprision her?
The military is sworn in to uphold the constitution, unless they use Jack's old comission, and come up with a very good and very plausible answer for a military tribunal for stripping a Brigardier General of his rank and demoting him by four ranks every military personal in the know is practically obligated to stop them.
Security clearence: Season two, during the time when the NID was using the Antarctica Gate to go offworld illegaly. It was outright stated that SG1 had the highest military clearence in the States.
There are no blacked out military files for them. Period.
Considering everything that SG1 and Jack O'Neill in particular has done for earth I doubt any of 'them' would try to stick it to O'Neill that overtly or even covertly. Because when it comes right down to it they are more expendable for earth then O'Neill is. In Continuum Jack is still a Colonel, while in the Original timeline he is a Major General at this point plainly because they needed him there that much that his quirks could be overlocked.
So Rant mode of. This was just something that I had to put here. I know that half the ngst would vanish out of this fic if you integrated even one of these facts, but I was never one for angst and it took a lot for me to even start reading this fic. And it is written very good. |
pain in the mikta 2009-05-19 . chapter 17Aw! At long last!

Zoser 2009-05-19 . chapter 17I almost forgot how much I liked this story.
Looking forward to a satisfying ending - if not I will imagine my own! |
minijo1990 2009-05-19 . chapter 17Fantastic chapter as always. Love, love, love, love L'masee one of the best OC I've come across. He fits Jac to a T. The advice from him is very sound and I can now see Jac surviving happily regardless of whether Carter and Jackson want her around or not.
If you take requests I'd love another chance to see clone!jack and Jac interaction especially if its part of Jac's new plans that you hinted about at the end of the chapter.
Thank you for updating this truly original and entertaining story. |
Neiths Arrow 2009-05-18 . chapter 17Very well written. You've taken the events and woven them around your new story. I can't wait to see what happens next. |
 Moonta 2009-04-28 . chapter 16Really great story!

Dream's Abyss 2009-04-16 . chapter 16I really like this. I had found it some time ago around the time Jac was caught by Ba'al (I think it's been 2 years now) but for some reason never favorited it. Anyway, I'm glad I found it again. |
Padme4000 2009-02-27 . chapter 16this chapter was worth the long wait, fantastic chapter and I can't wait to read more |
 DarthReign 2009-02-26 . chapter 16Poor Jac/k :(
Still loving this story - you are doing a great job with it :) |
Bixata 2009-02-25 . chapter 16Wonderful, I eagerly await each new chapter and I'm always thrilled when I find them. I love the relationship between Jac and L'masee, he's so protective of her and it's great to see him imitating Teal'c, that is just hilarious. It's great that you didn't go for the easy fix and let Jac revert back to Jack. It's amazing that you're able to rewrite these episodes so well, tweaking them just a bit to suit different characters (Landry instead of Jack). I'm looking forward to the next part, thanks for sharing. |
PatriciaS 2009-02-25 . chapter 16Well worth the wait. Great chapter and lots in it. Love the action through out and the angst ... especially Jac being so close and then actually taking the button and pushing it so her future would be sealed. Well for now anyway.
I like Jac and the way she copes typically Jack style and it feels right.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing and looking forward to the next chapter. |
