The Weird Shipper 2009-08-07 . chapter 1*applouds while crying* You're an amazing author. It's so distant, yet so absorbing and confusing, yet, if you read it twice, it's crystal, in whatever way you think. This is just divine, for lack of a better word.
P.S.: "Total Eclipse of the Heart" compliments this fanfiction well, if I may voice my opinion. |
MaryLilaWest 2009-02-10 . chapter 1These are absolutely fabulous. Mesmerizing and beautiful. I'm not sure I can put my appreciation into words, so I will give you a well done, and hope you understand how wonderful these are. |
Sir Drake's Heir 2008-12-26 . chapter 1I can't praise you enough! This was absolutely everything I was craving --and unable to find-- in an Artemis/Butler fic!
Though I got a kick out of most of the allusions, certainly all the ones I caught, the mention of Wilde 's "Salome" struck me as especially apt. Despite the more superficial suitability of the allusion (taking into account Wilde's homosexuality and penchant for younger boys), the particular account of Salome fits in very well with the overall themes and tone of the story. Destructive love, self-destructive personalties, forbidden passion that borders on the incestuous, etc.
My favorites among the individual drabbles were numbers I and VI. The latter I loved for its intense, brutally beautiful imagery, and I have no idea what attracted me to the former. The weight and sobriety that, as an overture, it brings to the entire rest of the piece, perhaps.
And, having read your notes at the end, it was interesting to reconsider each of the drabbles, not only through the lens of the sin and virtue they represent, but the prompt that inspired them as well.
I liked it quite a bit, in case you couldn't tell. I NEVER go eggheaded and dorky over fanfic. NEVER.

Akari-chan 2007-09-06 . chapter 1How can this have just two reviews? This is - I cannot find another word for it that isnt 'beautiful'. You've had me taken with the first phrase, you work with such strong imagery! It took two reads to understand it quite right, my english isn't so good after all, but it was worth every second. I loved your portrait of Artemis, I think you got him perfectly. Your characterization scores 10, I've never seen such a wonderful Artemis before.
And I've felt the need to comment, I loved them all, specially together, but the first one just killed me right into the spot - it's perfect. |
