Hey, lookie here! Another new (to me) story. I hadn't read this before because I hadn't seen the 'Tao' episode. I'm probably not the only one, hence the relatively few reviews for this lovely missing scene. Rodney certainly looked as if he could've used some comfort in the scene where he exited the infirmary. I'm glad that you had John there to offer it. And my inner Trekkie loved the reference to TOS and Where No Man Has Gone Before. Thanks for helping to tie up loose ends.

this was amazing! This really was missing in the episode. McKay needs some time to figure out what he just did, and that he's still normal...I love the thoughts he has. I need to watch some TOS, cause idn't catch the refference :(

I remember that Star Trek episode, too. Interesting take and what is missing from the episode. Can't comment since I haven't seen it--yet! That's the frustrating part about tv--there are gaps in the storyline due to time constraints. You seem to have filled it in beautifully here.
