I must say that I am definitely interested in the way this story will turn out. I really hope that you continue this. Besides that, it is well-written and really grabbed me.

On an unrelated note, I am glad that the characters you axed did not include Larsa, Basch, or Ashe -- pretty much my favorite characters. =D

Indeed, you did kill half the party and broke the other half (not literally, I'm sure). Ashe is suffering, grieving, just like she had done when her husband Rasler had died.

Her companions (most of them) has died, and so you described the pain that the remaining members of the group felt.
