I like the way you put us into Jim's perspective. It is a natural thing to try to make things better for people fresh from the hospital, but there are definitely a limit to what the injured party can deal with.

I LIKE this one! I think you're really catching some of the uncertainties and aggravations he would have felt. Although, this soon after the accident, I think he would have still been asking himself some of the questions everyone else is asking, and I think a few more of the fears would still be showing in his thoughts. Besides, if he's been home for several days, shouldn't a therapist already be working with him for mobility training, and so forth? At least someone to teach him how to do the daily living activities and so forth, even if he wasn't recovered enough to be doing outdoor mobility training yet.
