Okay...and this one...is just perfect. Love House's playfulness, Chase handling him that well...and the image of an angry, wet diagnostician. I think it deserves a sequel, though, I'd like to see the dialogue between House and Chase the day after. Just saying - I'd read it!

LOVE IT SO MUCH.

The whole feel of it, Chase's PoV, and of course his quiet manipulation. Prepared to take a risk when it's worth it, but keeping that fact quiet until it is needed.

Also, this seems to underline the point that saving lives is very rarely about grand gestures and mad bravery; calculated risks and deliberately meditated strategy can often do a lot more.

What an excellent story and spot-on character study! THIS is why I was frightened of posting the the House category; you House writers are just too damn good!

If I were to quote the really good lines, I'd end up putting the entire story in the review box, so I'll have to point out just a few of my favorites. I love the reference to Chase's mother making him a master of diversion, and how that ties into his skill at handling House. The ending scene is also priceless, especially Chase's refusal to tattle on how he got House soaking wet. In character. Genius!
