I totally agree that the BBC version had the best music ever! Great story.

Very Sad! But beautiful. Edmund, indeed showed his sense of right and wrong and justice there. "Can you storm the gates of Heaven?" chilling and yet... you can feel the pain they are going through. God, I hope your sequel is as good!

I'm so glad that these boys are still - well - boys. Susan is acting very poisonously, but it's her own way of grieving, perhaps, and I'm simply grateful that Peter and Edmund have the will to continue living.

I loved this story; now I'm off to read The Land of Make Believe!

I'm glad that a fitting tribute was paid to Narnia's Valiant Queen - it seems only to have hit me now that Lucy is quite gone, just as Edmund found it difficult to realize until the moment of the funeral.

Firstly, I love Edmund and I love this line:

To use helping Narnia as an excuse to escape this tragedy is beneath you, my lord and will bring nothing but further sorrow. Who are you, sir, to disregard a direct injunction placed upon us by Aslan himself? And who are you to determine where Lucy and the rest have gone? Can you storm Heaven by virtue of your title and station? Can you, Peter, Son of Adam?

And gently nodding at the fact that Lucy always had a handkerchief when it was needed was heartbreaking.

I don't often read AU's, but I'm fiercely GLAD you wrote this one - I've always thought Lewis was very ** Susan, losing her entire family in, as you said, one fell swoop, so to see the two boys suffering through the same thing (even when they have each other) puts things in perspective for me and for many others who say that Susan "deserved" what she got.

Beautifully written first chapter - I loved the banter between the brothers. Moving on to the next chapter - and I'm aware this review is horribly, horribly late, but I always say better late than never. :)

This story is amazing, and incredibly sad. The idea that Ed and Peter did not go to Narnia at the end of TLB is a wonderous idea adn you display their greif beautifuly. Oh Susan, you know not what you do.

I can't wait to read the rest!

Oh. My. Goodness. Almyra, this was the perfect AU story. It had so much emotion!! I seriously don't think I have an criticism. This is quality fanfic. The characters are so real, and everything is just so powerful! I love your take on what could have happened. It's really paradoxical: Peter and Edmund would have lost their lives, yet they would also have gone back to Narnia. (I personally would have chosen to die.) And why Susan gave up on Narnia...it was so believable. And sad. I mean, she let go of Narnia when she needed it the most!! =[ You handled everything beautifully. The way you had Ed play the fanfare...and how they began to let go of their grief in the last chapter...amazing. Oh, the song really did fit. I loved it. Keep it up! I'm so reading the sequel.

*is still crying* I am in awe of your writing right now. Your imagery, your characterization, your voice - your EVERYTHING is amazing. I've always toyed with the idea of what would happen if they weren't at the train station, and I think the way you did it was beautiful. I love this fic and I love your Edmund and Peter. Well done.

*runs off to read more of your work again*

Stay amazing!!
