Your Azula is absolutely diabolical, but in the best way possible. It's in how she uses her secrets to control people instead of letting them render her vulnerable. In a way, I felt like she managed to pull both Ty Lee and Mai into the same game they were trying to avoid or transcend all along.

Not to gloss over your Mai, by any means. I liked that both who she was and how she related to Azula ended up shaping the person she became by the end of the fic--bending to an influence but not entirely controlled. Thanks for writing this!

Rather disturbing... In a good way, though! Your writing's very powerful. Mai's a complex character, as are Azula and Ty Lee. Their relationship's hardly friendly... This is really good, and I think it's just about cannon.

I love how you wrote their histories.

Kudos for not getting lazy and writing a 70+ story on their childhoods.

so awesome. It would be cool if you did a what could happen in the future fic. what their relationship would be after the war and/or if Azula takes the throne.

I find it impossible to point out any area of this story that I dislike. It is just so superbly executed; the characterization and interaction of the characters are spotless. I especially liked how you got into Mai and Azula's heads as that is no easy feat. Heck, you managed to show Ty Lee as someone other than the utter ditz most authors portray her as (she is actually somewhat aware of how Azula thinks and acts accordingly). You also connected your story with the show, showing the significance of the return Tom-Tom scene. The interaction of Mai and Ty with Azula also brought out Azula's mental dominance in a subtle yet powerful manner.

Simply put, you have done an excellent job with this wonderful story. If you don't mind, I will be drawing inspiration from this for my own fic in the works, although it will pale in comparison to your writing.

Oh wow, I have never ever ever in my life read something like this. It is so amazing, interesting and well thought out. Possibly teh best fic that I have ever read containing these three. You gave reason to so many things, and honestly, I woudln't be surprised it much of their history truly is like this. magnificent, bravo!
