I think Q's true form is none of those things such as balls of light because that is too simple, it is something more i think beyond what we can imagine and even if he did show his true form Picard wud not be able to comprehend it and wud only interpret it another way

I thought that was beautiful! I loved that Picard could openly admire Q, granted it's hard to keep secret's from an omnipotent being. I especially loved Q's responses to being admired.

I have to agree with your assessment of what the Q might look like. They are far to complex to just show up as a ball of light. No, for them there would be colors mixed in and variations and all sorts of other stuff. Whether the other stuff was so bright as to blind us to the complexities however... Maybe that's why energy beings and the like always just show up as balls of light.

Hmmm I am torn on this issue normaly I'd blast any and all gay fics with horrible flames but in this case I find it hard to do so. The idea is very well done, dispite that fact when I first started I was like "Oh god this isn't right" but as I read I began to see that you were able to write it in a way that acutally is good. And as i see Q is that he is neather male or female in any mortal sence of the word Q just comes across to most as a male since thats the form he always takes. And that is backed up by the fact that he and the female Q presented on ST:V having a relationship and a child. So it don't disclued the possiblity. All in all this is deffenitetly an interesting pairing not many people would think to pair picard and Q since they have more of a hate and love to torment relationship on the show. But I guess one could take Q's intrest in testing and getting Picard to go beyond his mortal sences so to speak as something more, but I personaly see the two as friends. But this is deffently a well done story dispite the gay relationship thing.
