This was so sweet. I really like the rewrite of the song, Liesl growing up and having expierenced the things she only ever sung about. I truly believe she would have still be in love with Rolfe. I thought it was beautiful.

I do not remember any last name for Rolfe. Sorry about that!

Hmm... Interesting. But just so you know, the Sound of Music was based off a real family, and they went to America. You might already know, but, just wanted to point that out,because you have them in Switzerland.

rolfe's last name is Gruber. (well, that's what it says on my DVD anyway.) and i really liked it, it's on my favs!

Rolfe actually does have a last name in the film: Gruber. It says it in the DVD case - and so I have my proof.
True, Liesl would have grown up during the war. I think, after watching the film, that Liesl was ready to grow up, but just needed a push. She thought she was, when she was with Rolfe, but when he betrayed her, she felt like a child. This would have been a big step.
The ending was a tad sad, but it is unlikely that he would've survived. The second world war was brutal on all sides.

I don't think he had a last name... Well, maybe he did in the book, but the statistics of people in our generation who've read it is most likely much less than the ones who've seen the movie. Oh, btw, the VonTraps did move to the U.S. in real life. They must've gone through hell in the Depression.
